The festive season is in full swing, so you’ll likely find our Disney Parks Blog team stationed in front of the Favorites of Festivals Past Holiday Kitchen at EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth.
This has become one of our favorite stops, featuring popular dishes — like Reuben Croquettes, Brown Sugar and Mustard-glazed Ham Sliders, and a Panettone Holiday Trifle — inspired from previous EPCOT festivals.
And this year, we were given the opportunity to try the beloved dishes and beverages, so I teamed up with Nicole from Disney Eats to sample the menu.
I hope you ate before reading this story, because these descriptions are making me hungry as I’m writing it down. Here’s what you need to know on this foodie stop.
Where to Find Favorites of Festivals Past (and What’s Nearby)
Make your way to CommuniCore Hall to find Favorites of Festivals Past right at the heart of World Celebration. This holiday kitchen will be open for the rest of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, until December 30, 2025.
While you’re grabbing a bite, sit near the CommuniCore Plaza Stage to hear JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season. There will likely be a few hits you recognize since the ensemble is performing Gospel, Rhythm, and Blues tunes that celebrate the spirit of Christmas and Kwanzaa.
You can also travel inside the hall to meet Santa Claus or grab one of the delicious cookies that’s available this year as part of the Holiday Cookie Stroll.
Reuben Croquettes
If you take away one thing from this blog, I hope it’s this — the Reuben Croquettes are delightful and are now my go-to festival item. These five croquettes are filled with pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese and come with Thousand Island dipping sauce on the side.
It’s a ton of flavor in a small bite. Plus, if you’re with a group, this delicious dish can easily be divided among the team.
Brown Sugar and Mustard-glazed Ham Sliders
Are you looking for a heartier option that has a little sweetness? Then, you’ll want to check out the fan-favorite slider. Packed with flavor, Nicole and I both enjoyed the depth that the cranberry and apple coleslaw added to each bite. Nestled in between a Hawaiian roll, the vibrant flavors added a punch to the holiday classic.
Panettone Holiday Trifle
Every dish from this marketplace included an ample serving, and this trifle is no exception. Perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth, the Panettone Holiday Trifle is topped with an eggnog custard and includes a cranberry-cherry compote and sugared almonds. Grab your spoon and make sure you get every ingredient from this layered dessert.
My favorite part was the burst of flavor from the tart cranberry-cherry compote, which was complemented by the creamy custard. There is no better way to enjoy the day than with a festive treat, and this trifle is perfect for the whole family to share.
Festival of the Holidays Beverage Favorites
The seasonal beers and wines at Favorites of Festivals Past have some of your favorites inspired by previous Holiday Kitchens all around EPCOT. Availability is subject to change.
At time of publication, we spotted these brews:
Keel Farms Pecan Pie Hard Cider
Southern Tier Brewing Co. Tiramisu Imperial Stout
Cigar City Brewing Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Brown Ale
Beverage Flight also available
Available wines include:
Martin Ray Chardonnay
Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon
What’s Next?
This Holiday Kitchen will be returning to every festival, and we can’t wait to see what the culinary team has in store for Opening Bites, coming to EPCOT International Festival of the Arts this January.
So, when you make your way over to EPCOT, be sure to save some room for these delicious offerings and check out the entertainment and merchandise nearby in CommuniCore Hall and Plaza.
It wouldn’t be the holiday season without trying a few new cookie recipes and scarfing down a couple of seasonal favorites. For me, the Hazelnut Linzer Cookie with Raspberry Jam and the Mickey-shaped Almond Black and White Cookie will always be on the list. And this year was no different as Nicole and I embarked on the Holiday Cookie Stroll at EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth.
Grab your festival passport because this sweet stroll has 13 cookies to choose from with seasonal beverages available at each Holiday Kitchen.
How the Holiday Cookie Stroll Works
You’ve just entered EPCOT, and you’re ready to eat cookies all around the world — what should you do first? Grab a festival passport. It is the key to your stroll and on page 36, you’ll find a list of 13 delicious cookies that are available for this experience. The following page is where the stamps happen. With each cookie you purchase, you’ll receive the corresponding cookie stamp in the fun cookie cutouts.
By purchasing five cookies, your stamped page will be complete, and you will receive a fun surprise treat from the Holiday Sweets & Treats signifying that you completed the stroll. And trust me, if you enjoy baking your own holiday cookies at home, this one is perfect for you!
Now let’s begin…
New! Ginger-Molasses Cookie with Cream Cheese Icing
Our first stop of the stroll was the Ginger-Molasses Cookie with Cream Cheese Icing within CommuniCore Hall. Starting off strong with the perfect balance of spice and sweet, this new cookie is chewy and coated with a decadent amount of cream cheese icing.
Location: Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow (CommuniCore Hall)
This was just one of the three cookies available. If you tend to gravitate toward cookies with less icing, you’ll also find these options at the same Holiday Kitchen:
New! Prototype Cookie: Sugar Cookie with Orange-Cranberry Icing and Dark Chocolate
Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie
Our Suggested Pairing
Nicole suggested the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Frosted Gingerbread White Stout to increase the gingerbread and molasses flavors, and she was spot on because the brewing company says this seasonal pale is meant to be paired with holiday desserts like gingerbread cookies.
Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie
If you love chocolate, the Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie is the one for you. This rich crinkle cookie tastes like you’re biting into a brownie that’s been dusted with cinnamon.
Location: Nochebuena Cocina (between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavilion)
Nicole noted how it’s very soft when you first bite into the cookie and has a fudgy center that’s perfect for chocolate fans.
Bake Disney’s Holiday Cookies at Home
Many of the cookies mentioned in this story were recently featured in Cooking Up the Magic on the Disney Parks Blog. Check it out and grab the recipe for your favorite cookie!
Our Suggested Pairing
The Ponche Navideño is a warm non-alcoholic Christmas punch. This drink brings the tropics and the holiday together with apples, pears, guava, oranges, dried hibiscus, brown sugar, tamarind, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
Hazelnut Linzer Cookie with Raspberry Jam
Now making our way around the World Showcase, the Linzer Cookie is a classic at the festival for a reason. This buttery, melt-in-your-mouth magic is enhanced with a spread of raspberry jam. And this year, you’ll notice the cookie has a new shape for its center cutout – the one and only, Mickey Mouse.
Nicole also shared that it was a nice contrast after trying the Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie because the jam has a bright, tangy taste compared to the intense chocolate.
Our Suggested Pairing
We paired this shortbread cookie with Glühwein, a house-made hot spiced wine. This drink is wonderful on a chillier day and will make you feel like you’ve been transported into a Christmas market. These two together feel like a warm hug on a cold December day and will bring holiday cheer as you continue your stroll to the next stop.
New! Mickey-shaped Almond Black and White Cookie
This cookie has a soft, cake-like texture and is now in the shape of Mickey Mouse. Split down the middle, it features both vanilla and chocolate fondant icing.
Location: L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen (between Morocco and France Pavilions)
Cookie Category: Drop Cookie
The great debate between Nicole and I was which side should be eaten first. Nicole prefers chocolate first, but I have to disagree. I hope you all try this one and let us know which side is your favorite because there is now a Disney Parks Blog divide.
However, there was one thing we both agreed on. The first bite must be the ears. We don’t make the rules; that’s just how it’s meant to be – like how you wouldn’t start a sandwich with a bite in the middle.
Our Suggested Pairing
We paired this one with an additional Mickey-shaped Almond Black and White Cookie. Just one cookie wasn’t enough!
New! Maple Leaf Shortbread Cookie with Maple Buttercream
Brand new to the festival this year, we had to include the Maple Leaf Shortbread Cookie with Maple Buttercream on our list. This cookie features maple buttercream and has a nice sweet to salty ratio with the sea salt flakes on top.
We decided to double the maple by selecting the Playalinda Brewing Co. Maple Cookie Blonde Ale as our pairing for this cookie. These two together created the ultimate nutty, caramel experience we were looking for and might have been our favorite surprise pairing from the entire outing.
Bonus Stop for the Coffee-Mocha Cookie
By now you might be slowing down, so why not add a boost of energy with a Coffee-Mocha Cookie topped with coffee-infused buttercream, cocoa nibs, and chocolate-covered espresso beans.
Location: Mele Kalikimaka Holiday Kitchen (Between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavilion)
Instead of grabbing a beverage here, we decided to walk over to Holiday Sweets & Treats for our final pairing. They had a Festive Flight featuring Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s that was screaming our names. Perfect for a group, you can taste three different hot cocoas including:
Christmas Sugar Cookie Hot Cocoa topped with whipped cream and sprinkles
Gingerbread Hot Cocoa topped with whipped cream and a gingerbread garnish
Cookie Butter Hot Cocoa topped with whipped cream and speculoos spice
Holiday Cookie Stroll Prize
Congratulations! You made it to the end of the stroll with a bonus cookie or two. If you also decided to wrap up your stroll with the Festive Flight like me and Nicole, then you’re already in the right place.
At Holiday Sweets & Treats, show your festival passport with the five completed stamps to the cast member at the redemption window to claim your victory.
Find Even More Sweetness This Season at EPCOT

When the holidays sleigh into Walt Disney World, every corner sparkles with décor you won’t find anywhere else, turning the entire resort into a merry masterpiece of festive enchantment. All four theme parks, more than 25 Disney Resorts Collection hotels, and Disney Springs are decked in unique touches that make spirits bright and create holiday magic only Disney can deliver.
At the heart of this holiday celebration, 20 dazzling “icon Christmas trees” stand tall and proud, each one a shimmering symbol of tradition, joy, and pure Disney storytelling. These magnificent trees invite you to unwrap seasonal magic and create memories that sparkle as brightly as their glimmering lights.
While hundreds of beautifully decorated trees grace Walt Disney World each year, these 20 special Christmas trees soar to impressive heights, towering over 15 feet with some reaching an awe-inspiring 70 feet, making them the ultimate centerpiece of festive wonder.
You may visit a city or destination to see a single tree like these, but where else in the world can you combine Disney magic with 20 larger-than-life holiday trees? Because at Disney World, the holidays aren’t just very merry — they’re truly tree-mendous!
A Tradition That Tops It All
These holiday trees serve as the perfect backdrop for festive photos, sparks of holiday cheer, and reminders of the traditions that make this season so special.
Imagine strolling into Magic Kingdom and being wowed by the grandeur of the tree on Main Street U.S.A., adorned with classic ornaments and nostalgic touches reminiscent of early 1900s decor. At EPCOT, as you enter World Showcase, ornaments include flags from around the world, all topped off with a towering angel reflecting world peace and unity.
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the vintage-inspired icon tree dazzles with the golden age of Tinseltown, and nearby, Dinosaur Gertie joins the celebration adorned with her signature Santa hat and hanging ornament. Meanwhile, the icon tree at the main entrance of Disney’s Animal Kingdom bursts with nature-inspired elements and handcrafted details that reflect the park’s wild spirit.
And for guests staying in Disney Resort Collection hotels, themed icon trees showcase their unique take on holiday wonder. Each tree sparkles with ornaments and whimsical details inspired by the themes and stories of its location, creating picture-perfect moments for guests to enjoy during their stay.
The tree at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, with its spectacular star topper, is the tallest at 70 feet tall, which makes it even taller than the Monorail beam! Disney Springs also sparkles with its own unique trees to explore as guests shop, dine, and play.
Craftsmanship Behind the Magic
These aren’t just enormous Christmas trees. They’re tales told through tinsel and lights, each branch bursting with character and charm. Decorative ornaments, oversized garland, and tall toppers all help tell a story, one that reflects the unique theme and spirit of its home, making each visit a picture-perfect moment of Disney holiday magic.
Every year, the talented decorators of Disney Holiday Services lovingly refresh each tree down to the individual branches, test every twinkling light, and polish every ornament to perfection. This process begins months in advance, ensuring that every detail shines as brightly as the season itself.
Once the trees are ready, the real magic begins. They’re meticulously transported in sections to their destinations, then welders and decorators assemble them with precision, working through the night, so guests wake up to a breathtaking surprise.
After they’re installed, each tree becomes a gathering place for families and friends celebrating the magic of the season.
Discovering the Holiday Icon Trees
No matter which Disney World theme park you visit or resort hotel you call home during the holidays, discovering every dazzling tree and uncovering must-see details is a tradition in itself.
Spot 13 lanterns representing the original colonies on the Christmas tree outside the American Adventure at EPCOT, and explore the many African cultures represented on the tree at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. See the whimsical floating ornaments surrounding the tree at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Holiday Magic Around Every Corner
From the moment you arrive, the holidays greet you with garlands, ornaments, and twinkling lights that transform every theme park into a seasonal wonderland. Our resort hotels glow with themed displays and cozy holiday accents, creating warm and inviting spaces for their guests to relax and celebrate.
Disney Springs sparkles with holiday magic, where festive décor and twinkling lights add extra jolly touches to your experience. Celebrate the season with the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll presented by AdventHealth, nightly snowfall and a flurry of treats and live entertainment.
Whether you’re snapping the perfect holiday photo, admiring themed décor, or simply soaking in the joyful atmosphere, this is just a sprinkle of the seasonal magic waiting for you at Walt Disney World.

Gingerbread Displays
Spotting all of the Disneyland Resort gingerbread displays is always one of my favorite holiday traditions, and this year’s magnificent masterpieces are certainly a must-see.
Baked, assembled, and decorated by a talented team of pastry chefs, these confectionery creations are carefully crafted and overflowing with festive cheer.
Lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
This year’s glorious gingerbread display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is truly grand. The house’s facade mimics the architectural design of the hotel, specifically giving a nod to the new Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast character dining experience new this year at Storytellers Cafe. You can even spot characters like Scrooge McDuck, and 25 Hidden Mickeys are nestled into the piece!
Using features of the American Craftsman style of design and the distinct color palette of brown and green earthy tones seen throughout the Grand Californian, the talented pastry team added elements like snow, bows, and wreaths to make the house truly feel like a holiday home. It took 520 pounds of gingerbread dough and 720 hours to produce this festive feat, which guests can now find in the hotel lobby.
Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Park
This year’s gingerbread house inside the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction is an homage to the Raven, one of the mansion’s ghostly inhabitants who guides guests on their journey, but takes a holiday of his own when the residents of Halloween Town come to visit.
Titled “A Murder Most Fowl,” the gingerbread house showcases 13 crows taking up residence in this haunting abode in his absence, and these feathered friends may be spotted moving from their perch, or watching you pass by with their glowing red eyes. A team of eight pastry chefs needed nearly 20 days and over 200 pounds of gingerbread to assemble this sweet spectacle, which stands at 13 feet tall.
This is a must-see and smell item for your holiday bucket list, especially because the mansion ballroom does indeed possess the scent of fresh gingerbread.
More Ways to Enjoy Gingerbread at Disneyland Resort
The gingerbread fun doesn’t stop there! Chip ‘n’ Dale can be found gleefully greeting guests in their festive gingerbread outfits for a limited time in Town Square in Disneyland Park. And as part of the seasonal celebrations, guests can spot some dancing gingerbread cookies in “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” as these cheerful characters make their way down Main Street, U.S.A.*.
In addition to these bites, beverages, and beautiful displays, don’t miss out on other sweet surprises – like the adorable gingerbread-themed merchandise from DisneyStore.com and at Disney Parks.
With so many ways to enjoy gingerbread, the Holidays at Disneyland Resort is truly a feast for the senses.
