It wouldn’t be the holiday season without trying a few new cookie recipes and scarfing down a couple of seasonal favorites. For me, the Hazelnut Linzer Cookie with Raspberry Jam and the Mickey-shaped Almond Black and White Cookie will always be on the list. And this year was no different as Nicole and I embarked on the Holiday Cookie Stroll at EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth.
Grab your festival passport because this sweet stroll has 13 cookies to choose from with seasonal beverages available at each Holiday Kitchen.
How the Holiday Cookie Stroll Works
You’ve just entered EPCOT, and you’re ready to eat cookies all around the world — what should you do first? Grab a festival passport. It is the key to your stroll and on page 36, you’ll find a list of 13 delicious cookies that are available for this experience. The following page is where the stamps happen. With each cookie you purchase, you’ll receive the corresponding cookie stamp in the fun cookie cutouts.
By purchasing five cookies, your stamped page will be complete, and you will receive a fun surprise treat from the Holiday Sweets & Treats signifying that you completed the stroll. And trust me, if you enjoy baking your own holiday cookies at home, this one is perfect for you!
Now let’s begin…
New! Ginger-Molasses Cookie with Cream Cheese Icing
Our first stop of the stroll was the Ginger-Molasses Cookie with Cream Cheese Icing within CommuniCore Hall. Starting off strong with the perfect balance of spice and sweet, this new cookie is chewy and coated with a decadent amount of cream cheese icing.
Location: Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow (CommuniCore Hall)
This was just one of the three cookies available. If you tend to gravitate toward cookies with less icing, you’ll also find these options at the same Holiday Kitchen:
New! Prototype Cookie: Sugar Cookie with Orange-Cranberry Icing and Dark Chocolate
Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie
Our Suggested Pairing
Nicole suggested the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Frosted Gingerbread White Stout to increase the gingerbread and molasses flavors, and she was spot on because the brewing company says this seasonal pale is meant to be paired with holiday desserts like gingerbread cookies.
Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie
If you love chocolate, the Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie is the one for you. This rich crinkle cookie tastes like you’re biting into a brownie that’s been dusted with cinnamon.
Location: Nochebuena Cocina (between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavilion)
Nicole noted how it’s very soft when you first bite into the cookie and has a fudgy center that’s perfect for chocolate fans.
Bake Disney’s Holiday Cookies at Home
Many of the cookies mentioned in this story were recently featured in Cooking Up the Magic on the Disney Parks Blog. Check it out and grab the recipe for your favorite cookie!
Our Suggested Pairing
The Ponche Navideño is a warm non-alcoholic Christmas punch. This drink brings the tropics and the holiday together with apples, pears, guava, oranges, dried hibiscus, brown sugar, tamarind, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
Hazelnut Linzer Cookie with Raspberry Jam
Now making our way around the World Showcase, the Linzer Cookie is a classic at the festival for a reason. This buttery, melt-in-your-mouth magic is enhanced with a spread of raspberry jam. And this year, you’ll notice the cookie has a new shape for its center cutout – the one and only, Mickey Mouse.
Nicole also shared that it was a nice contrast after trying the Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie because the jam has a bright, tangy taste compared to the intense chocolate.
Our Suggested Pairing
We paired this shortbread cookie with Glühwein, a house-made hot spiced wine. This drink is wonderful on a chillier day and will make you feel like you’ve been transported into a Christmas market. These two together feel like a warm hug on a cold December day and will bring holiday cheer as you continue your stroll to the next stop.
New! Mickey-shaped Almond Black and White Cookie
This cookie has a soft, cake-like texture and is now in the shape of Mickey Mouse. Split down the middle, it features both vanilla and chocolate fondant icing.
Location: L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen (between Morocco and France Pavilions)
Cookie Category: Drop Cookie
The great debate between Nicole and I was which side should be eaten first. Nicole prefers chocolate first, but I have to disagree. I hope you all try this one and let us know which side is your favorite because there is now a Disney Parks Blog divide.
However, there was one thing we both agreed on. The first bite must be the ears. We don’t make the rules; that’s just how it’s meant to be – like how you wouldn’t start a sandwich with a bite in the middle.
Our Suggested Pairing
We paired this one with an additional Mickey-shaped Almond Black and White Cookie. Just one cookie wasn’t enough!
New! Maple Leaf Shortbread Cookie with Maple Buttercream
Brand new to the festival this year, we had to include the Maple Leaf Shortbread Cookie with Maple Buttercream on our list. This cookie features maple buttercream and has a nice sweet to salty ratio with the sea salt flakes on top.
We decided to double the maple by selecting the Playalinda Brewing Co. Maple Cookie Blonde Ale as our pairing for this cookie. These two together created the ultimate nutty, caramel experience we were looking for and might have been our favorite surprise pairing from the entire outing.
Bonus Stop for the Coffee-Mocha Cookie
By now you might be slowing down, so why not add a boost of energy with a Coffee-Mocha Cookie topped with coffee-infused buttercream, cocoa nibs, and chocolate-covered espresso beans.
Location: Mele Kalikimaka Holiday Kitchen (Between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavilion)
Instead of grabbing a beverage here, we decided to walk over to Holiday Sweets & Treats for our final pairing. They had a Festive Flight featuring Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s that was screaming our names. Perfect for a group, you can taste three different hot cocoas including:
Christmas Sugar Cookie Hot Cocoa topped with whipped cream and sprinkles
Gingerbread Hot Cocoa topped with whipped cream and a gingerbread garnish
Cookie Butter Hot Cocoa topped with whipped cream and speculoos spice
Holiday Cookie Stroll Prize
Congratulations! You made it to the end of the stroll with a bonus cookie or two. If you also decided to wrap up your stroll with the Festive Flight like me and Nicole, then you’re already in the right place.
At Holiday Sweets & Treats, show your festival passport with the five completed stamps to the cast member at the redemption window to claim your victory.

For nearly 43 years, a visit to Spaceship Earth has ushered us to the top of the 180-foot-tall geodesic sphere while thanking the ancient Phoenicians and dreaming up our futuristic lives in an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Today, join Laura and Rain from the Disney Parks Blog team as we take you inside GEO-82, the new 21+ Spaceship Earth lounge that immerses us in the flavors, views, and legacy that shape present-day EPCOT.
Looking ahead to the Spaceship Earth facade from the GEO-82 lobby
Ascending Into the Future
As we arrived at GEO-82 (near the Spaceship Earth post-show exit), our bright park surroundings were transformed via a softly curving hallway of warm metallics and subdued lighting, setting the tone for an escape into the futuristic lounge.
Here, we took in the glittering staircase, reminiscent of the spiraling ascent riders take toward the starry top of Spaceship Earth. All-too eager for bites and sips, we opted for the nearby elevator and were soon stepping into the intimate lobby of GEO-82.
The gold and bronze hues throughout the lobby and lounge offered an innovative, yet warm interpretation of a futuristic aesthetic. Amid comfortable leather seating, vintage-style prints of Spaceship Earth, EPCOT fireworks and the Monorail lined the walls.
Get up close and personal with the legendary Spaceship Earth facade
We can’t over-emphasize the stroll to your table — here you’ll pass a life-sized Spaceship Earth facade, imitating the 11,324 Alucobond tiles that make up the sphere’s iconic exterior. At your feet, twinkling lights shine, reminding us of the glimmering points that dotted the ground of a Future World past.
Looking out to World Celebration Gardens and World Showcase from GEO-82
Inside GEO-82
Entering the GEO-82 lounge, we were treated to a sweeping view of World Celebration Gardens, with World Showcase in the distance. In the lounge, mid-century modern-style furniture, soft music, and continued warm metallic tones flowed through the space.
Guests will be able to make GEO-82 reservations for special seatings to watch the nighttime spectacular, “Luminous The Symphony of Us.” As the show unfolds in harmony with the color-changing lights throughout World Celebration Gardens and on Spaceship Earth, the inside of GEO-82 will also change. The full musical score will play, and the lounge lighting will dim during the show to create a fully immersive experience.
A Walk Through the Garden and the Peach Shrub Whisky Smash with a sweet surprise
Elevated Cocktails and Zero-Proof Cocktails
Make sure you ask the team at GEO-82 about the different cocktails and zero-proof cocktails. One of our favorite parts was hearing about the complexity behind each beverage. Every element of these futuristic concoctions was well thought out.
From the in-house created Lime Cordial syrup for the High Brow Batanga to the geodesic sphere-stamped ice cubes in the Brown Butter Old-Fashioned, no detail was left behind.
They even had a fun GEO-82 Cocktail Key that showed you how each beverage was going to be prepared.
We kept flipping back and forth from the menu to the key to discover the exact glassware, ice and preparation required for our selected beverages. Shaken? Stirred? Large ice cube or sphere? We loved deciphering how our beverage would look before we even ordered.
GEO-82 Cocktail Key provides additional details about the drink preparation
Plus, for American whiskey lovers who want to try a few options during their visit, the team also selected four unique bourbons for an exclusive Disney Select Bourbon Flight:
Uncle Nearest Single Barrel
Woodford Reserve Private Barrel
Blanton’s Gold Single Barrel
Stagg Private Barrel
Talk about perfect pairings! This drink and accompanying surprise are a symbol of the amazing collaboration happening at GEO-82
Peach Shrub Whisky Smash
Evan Rosenthal, Food and Beverage Concept Manager, was on-hand to recommend the Peach Shrub Whisky Smash to get a true taste of the collaborative spirit at GEO-82, “If there is a single drink that showcases the concept of this lounge, it is the peach shrub whisky smash.”
With Toki Suntory Whisky, Lustau Amontillado Sherry, peach and mint shrub, and bubbles, the Peach Shrub Whisky Smashwas a refreshing option to enjoy on a hot summer day while relaxing with a friend.
“Tastes like summertime in a glass! The peach and mint are a perfect combination.” – Laura
Evan went on to tell us how the Peach Shrub Whisky Smash was so essential to the harmony between the kitchen dishes and the cocktails served at the bar. “We had all these beautiful peaches and mint that we macerated overnight — the sugar brings out all those juices which we made the shrub from.”
The sherry and peach preserves were soon in the hands of Chef Robby Sayles, Chef de Cuisine – Concept Development at Walt Disney World. Inspired by the drink, Robby whipped up a very special sweet surprise to accompany each Peach Shrub Whisky Smash order.
Taking Zero-Proof Cocktails to the Next Level
The GEO-82 menu offers two zero-proof drinks with very different flavor profiles. To ramp up your park day energy, the Manhattan in the Morning delivers a coffee kick balanced with smooth tart cherry and walnut bitters. Meanwhile, A Walk Through the Garden is the perfect afternoon sip; a bright and refreshing glass of bubbly citrus with a decorative spray of fennel and lemon slice.
A Walk Through the Garden
The sun was high on our EPCOT afternoon, so we tried A Walk Through the Garden for a lush cool down. It has Seedlip Garden 108 Non-Alcoholic Spirit, basil, fennel, lemon, Hella Cocktail Co. Orange Bitters, The Bitter Truth Celery Bitters, and sparkling bubbles.
“This might just be my new go-to summer drink. Refreshing and not too sweet, it’s a spritzer with a lot of depth, offering a new exploration of flavors with each sip!” – Rain
GEO-82, like Spaceship Earth, presents the possibilities for the future. Along with the exclusive cocktails and zero-proof cocktails we tried today, the drink menu will feature wines unique to GEO-82 and highlight family-owned, smaller production wineries.
Chef’s Selection of Artisanal Cheeses, Cured Meats, and Accompaniments
A Chef’s Selection of Delectable Bites
For foodies like us, a visit to EPCOT usually means tapping into the freshest seasonal selections, whether you are tasting your way through one of the EPCOT festivals or sitting here at the GEO-82 bar.
True to form, the charcuterie board at GEO-82 will feature a chef’s selection of artisanal cheeses, cured meats and accompaniments.
On our visit, we enjoyed Calabrese Salami, Jamon Iberico, Wagyu Bresaola, Tete De Moine, Truffle Tremor Goat Cheese, Point Reyes Blue Cheese, Cranberry Loaf, Euro Bake Baguette, Pecan-Green Olive Brittle, Peach Chutney, B&B Pickles, and Honeycomb.
Now, the pickles. Let’s talk about them because they come from The Land and the recipe is inspired by Chef Robby Sayles’ grandmother. She must have pixie dust at home because her recipe was magical and the perfect addition to the board.
“It was my first time trying some of the cheese and meat selections on the board, so this was a fun way to explore a sampling of flavors to pinpoint a few new favorites to pair with our drinks. Another careful collaboration between the kitchen and bar, the peach preserves from the Peach Shrub Whisky Smash showed up again on our plate as a delightful chutney.” – Rain
“The truffle goat cheese was incredible! I still have dreams about that cheese and all the items that accompanied it. Can’t wait to order the board again! ” – Laura
Evan said of the collaboration between the beverage and chef teams at GEO-82, “The chef and culinary team know that they’re not just responsible for the food, and they don’t think of it that way … They make sure that the flavors are right each time. They’ve seen how the team at the bar uses the ingredients, and they are proud of it.”
Laura and Rain enjoy sips and bites at the GEO-82 bar
