A tea-riffic sneak peek at the elegant experience inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Grab your best-teas and get read-tea for the debut of The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, opening to guests March 19, 2026. This reimagined offering blends the elegance of the Victorian era with the playful charm of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Alice in Wonderland, bringing the timeless story from the silver screen to the heart of the newly refurbished Grand Floridian, sure to leave you feeling enchanted.

I’m so excited to share this first look with you – let’s hop to it!

A Whimsical Welcome to the Reimagined Lounge

As you step into The Garden View Lounge, it feels like walking into a sunlit conservatory. My personal favorite part of the space is the floor-to-ceiling windows. No matter the time of day, natural light pours into the room, giving the entire space a warm, inviting glow.

As you look closer into the space, the furniture strikes a balance between modern comfort and classic Victorian, making the lounge feel fresh while honoring the beloved Grand Floridian style guests know and love.

Details That Bring the Space to Life

As with any Disney location, the magic is in the details. The floral patterns, plush fabrics, and gentle hues of green, blue, and gold create a serene atmosphere that feels connected to nature.

Organic shapes appear throughout the room, portraying the flowers and leaves you’d find in a flourishing garden, creating a lush escape for anyone who enters.

The brass-framed mirrors resemble flower petals, reflecting an outdoor garden, while the stained-glass windows featuring native Floridian birds add color, character, and warmth.

Looking down, the gorgeous carpet inspired by winding garden vines will have you stop in your tracks (it was one of the first things I noticed about the space!). Do you see anything special integrated into the design?

A Timeless Tradition Returns

This long-awaited Afternoon Tea Service returns with a delicious menu inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, of course served with a unique presentation of loose leaf teas from Twinings. Adults are welcome to choose between a traditional tea service or a plant-based option, while younger guests can enjoy a special children’s tea. It’s a thoughtful approach that makes the experience feel welcoming for families, couples, and solo tea lovers alike.

All New: Takumi-Tei at EPCOT is nestled within the Japan Pavillion features an omakase, which means “leave it up to the chef,” menu.

This two-hour omakase dining experience is a special occasion that is perfect for those celebrating or those wanting a foodie outing, all nestled within a theme park. And what makes it even more unique is that this menu changes with each season, meaning you’ll never have the same experience twice.

Meet the Team

The team at Takumi-Tei has brought their passion and culture to the plate with a delicious selection that transports visitors with each and every bite.

Led by Chef Shingo in the kitchen and Yuki in the front of house, this ever-evolving menu encourages repeat visitation, as it continues to change with each and every season. The storytelling can be seen with each course that makes you truly feel like you’re immersed within the Japanese culture.

Inside Takumi-Tei

But before we get to the food, I simply must talk about this space. As you walk through the doors, you’re instantly transported into a tranquil environment.

The name of the restaurant means “House of the Artisan” in Japanese, and the space around you brings that to life. With five rooms inspired by a natural element – water, wood, earth, stone, and washi paper – each has a unique look and feel. From the chairs to the décor on the walls, and even the coasters, each room is filled with meaning that allows you to truly be immersed into this culture.

The New Menu at Takumi-Tei

And now for the best part, the food. Guests have the choice between the full omakase menu, with a vegetarian option, as well as a semi course menu for a slightly lighter experience. As a foodie, I opted for the full menu which features seven courses of delightful dishes.

Our First Course

The brand-new Spring menu is inspired by the season in both look and flavor. For the first course, we got the Ichiju Sansai, which comes with three seasonal dishes, including a soup that was a highlight. These options included:

  • Sea Bream: Kombu–cured Sakura style accented with edible gold leaf
  • Lightly Fried Tofu in Silken White Miso Broth served with Japanese mustard and pickled cherry blossom
  • Salmon Roe & Spring Vegetables dressed in white sesame dressing garnished with silver leaf

Before beginning the course, along with our server, we all took a moment to enjoy being together to share this meal, and revealed our items at the same time, lifting the lid off the bowls. It was a simple, yet special moment, kicking off a memorable meal.

These bites were a fantastic start to the meal, with fresh flavors that tasted like spring. My personal favorite, the soup, was truly a delight with the lightly fried tofu being a surprising star.

And the silver leaf on the Salmon Roe & Spring Vegetables was something I had never seen before but an eye-catching finishing touch. For those indulging in the vegetarian menu, the salmon roe is swapped for spring vegetables in a silken white sesame dressing and also accented with an edible silver leaf.

Our Second Course

For course number two, we had the chilled seasonal appetizer. This course features a Charcoal-Grilled Razor Clam & Tataki-Style Spanish Mackerel that is one of the most visual items on the menu, served in an actual clamshell. It’s accented with sea urchin, wasabi jelly, egg yolk vinegar emulsion, fine myoga julienne, and edible blossoms.

As someone with a shellfish allergy, I could not try this dish but can attest that my fellow foodies loved it. I got the vegetarian dish with Assorted Seasonal Vegetables served with silken wasabi jelly, julienned myoga ginger, and edible flower buds.

Our Third Course

And with course three, we were treated to a truly spring-themed delight – the Spring Hanami Huassun Platter. This dish was adorned with cherry blossoms that truly embodied the season. The small bites included in this platter on the omnivorous menu are:

  • Saikyo Miso–Grilled Flounder
  • Horse Mackerel “Kosode” Sushi
  • Squid & Komatsuna Greens with toasted sesame dressing accented with edible blossoms
  • Nanban-Style Marinated Fish accented with paprika amber gelée
  • Traditional Tamagoyaki
  • Delicately Simmered Prawn
  • Broad Beans in Jade-Tinted dashi broth

The hit from this one among the table was the flounder, with my fellow foodies delighting in this bite. I tried the vegetarian version of this course, and it did not disappoint. These bites included:

  • Char-Grilled Daikon Radish Dengaku glazed with aromatic yuzu miso
  • Spinach Temari Sushi served with silken egg yolk vinegar sauce
  • Grilled Eggplant & Paprika served with amber jelly
  • Komatsuna Greens with Vinegar Miso Dressing garnished with edible blossoms
  • Simmered White Konjac accompanied with cherry tomatoes marinated in sweet vinegar
  • Simmered Broad Beans in jade-colored broth

Our Fourth Course

Next up, the simmered dish course. This was one of my absolute favorites of the entire evening. It features a lightly coated greenling, lotus root dumpling, petal-carved daikon, and season greens accented with plum sauce and fresh yuzu. The greenling, which was cooked to perfection, and the broth were an absolutely delicious combination that I couldn’t get enough of.

Our Fifth Course

For the main dish, you get the option of the following:

  • Crisp Tempura of Japanese Black Waygu with Sakura-infused mashed potatoes, tender broccolini, sweet sake velouté, and toasted egg crumble
  • Char-Grilled Japanese Black Wagyu Sirloin with Sakura mashed potatoes, tender broccolini, velvety sweet sake sauce, and toasted egg crumble (This option is available as an upgrade)
  • Crisp Fan-Shaped White Shrimp Tempura with egg yolk vinegar emulsion, fine spring onion, fried eggplant, and tender broccolini

I got the char-grilled wagyu, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I am still dreaming about this dish. The wagyu sirloin melted in your mouth like butter, and the Sakura mashed potatoes were phenomenal. You truly can’t go wrong when it comes to wagyu.

We did try the vegetarian main course, which also was a hit with crisp deep-fried assorted vegetable skewers that also featured the delicious Sakura-infused mashed potatoes and caramelized onion ponzu sauce.

Our Sixth Course

The penultimate course is the rice course with pressed eel sushi and shredded egg atop subtle Japanese Sasho pepper and a spinach and silken tofu in a red miso soup. It was a delightful bite before we jumped into the awaited dessert. And to top it off, it was joined by an origami hat, which serves as a lovely keepsake to remember the night.

The Seventh and Last Course

Last, but certainly not least, we have the dessert course that comes with matcha tea made tableside and a selection of seasonal sweets. The server hand-mixes the matcha right at your table.

We all took a moment of silence to take in the meal we just had, commemorating the experience before indulging in some sweets. As a tea lover, this was such a special touch that added to how unique this restaurant is.

For desserts, the three seasonal selections are:

  • Strawberry Baked Cheesecake accented with milk caramel, whipped cream, and viola flower
  • House-Made Strawberry Daifuku served with Sakura crystal jelly
  • House-Made Sakura Mochi with Sakura crystal jelly-salt-pickled cherry blossom

As a self-appointed dessert aficionado, each of these were delicious. My personal favorite was the cheesecake, but I would gladly indulge in any of the three.

Drink Pairings

For those wanting beverage pairings for your visit, you’re in luck. The team at Takumi-Tei has expertly selected offerings with each dish. You can choose between wine and sake pairings that bring out the flavors of both the food and beverages. Along with cocktails, and even still and sparkling water imported from Japan, this beverage menu completes the overall dining experience with each sip.

While located within EPCOT, this is an elevated dining experience. It’s encouraged to dress accordingly, knowing that you’ll be coming through the park to attend this location. Whether you’re wanting to try a new cuisine or celebrate a special occasion, Takumi-Tei is not one to be missed. Be sure to make your reservations to try this location for yourself!

Get ready foodies, because the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is almost upon us! From March 4 to June 1, step into a springtime celebration full of delicious eats, blooming gardens, exclusive merchandise, and live entertainment you won’t want to miss.

This year, there are over 20 outdoor kitchens and more than 75 new menu items that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. With so many flavors abloom, there is something tasty for every foodie to enjoy. Make sure to buzz over to the World Showcase to try new eats like the Sha Cha Beef Bao Bun at Lan Yuan and the Blackened Shrimp Po’ Boy at Magnolia Terrace. There are also plenty of returning favorites to indulge in, including the Frushi at Hanami and the Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade at Pineapple Promenade.

As you eat your way around the world, don’t forget to pick up a Festival Passport to join in on the yummy, fun-filled Garden Graze. To participate in this returning food stroll, which features 9 tasty treats from the Outdoor Kitchens, simply get a stamp on your passport after your purchase. Once you collect five stamps, you can receive your exclusive treat from the Pineapple Promenade.

We’ve got some tea-riffic news! My fellow tea lovers, I hope you’re ready for this exciting announcement. The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience will be opening its doors once again at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to bring guests on a whimsical afternoon tea extravaganza starting March 19, with reservations opening on February 19.

With new touches from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Alice in Wonderland, you will have an unforgettable experience. From small bites, both sweet and savory, to a selection of teas, you’ll be on quite the journey with each sip and bite amongst the elegance of this beloved location, now with a whimsical touch. There are options for both adults and the little ones, making this an outing the whole family can enjoy together.

Our beverage and culinary experts have gone down the rabbit hole and are ready for you to join them with this lineup of flavors. Here’s a look at the menu for you.

Beverages

Let’s begin our adventure with the beverages, shall we? The first step of this experience, or should I say sip, includes the tea selection. We’ve worked with Twinings to hand-select premium tea blends that offer something for everyone.

Delight in the Twinings Loose Leaf Tea Selections, including special flavors and classics like London Strand Breakfast and Spicy Chai, as well as more unique flavor combinations like Orangery of Lady Grey, which is a unique black tea featuring bright, orange notes that is exclusive to the Walt Disney World Resort. The Nutty Chocolate Flavoured Assam black tea is a must-try with smooth chocolate and roasted hazelnut flavors and if you are looking for something caffeine-free, enjoy the Blackcurrant and Lavender herbal tea.

After selecting your tea with the guidance of expertly trained cast members who serve as your own tea guide, you’ll be able to create a tea that is customized for you. Next, you’ll choose an aromatic designed to accompany the tea which is added during the steeping process. And feel free to add some extra sweetness. We don’t judge here.

And that’s not all. There are also two signature tea-based cocktails – the Mint Tulip featuring Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Straight Whiskey, Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea Instant Beverage, and mint, and the Mar-TEA-ni with Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, Twinings Earl Grey Tea, lemon, and honey.

Calling all Mickey Waffle aficionados – there are three exciting new waffles with a touch of Mickey Mouse flair launching soon at Disney Springs, and you’re going to want to add these to your must-try snacks list immediately!

If you saw my recent story about the best bread service at Disney World, you can probably guess that I love talking about carbs in any form, sweet or savory. One that I’m most passionate about is waffles, and today we are focusing on the savory category, since three new offerings will be available starting January 15 at Marketplace Snacks. This Disney Springs location is known for their decadent, photo-worthy sundaes, with ingredients like soft serve, hot fudge, fruit, and cookies stacked and served in Mickey Mouse waffle cones.

That iconic (and delicious) waffle base will stay the same, but instead serve as a vessel for savory selections, in addition to some sweet favorites currently on the menu. Guests at Disney Springs can soon take a break from all their shopping and sightseeing to snack on three new offerings: a Hot Honey Chicken Waffle, Bacon Cheeseburger Waffle, or BBQ Brisket Mac and Cheese Waffle.

Gingerbread Displays

Spotting all of the Disneyland Resort gingerbread displays is always one of my favorite holiday traditions, and this year’s magnificent masterpieces are certainly a must-see.

Baked, assembled, and decorated by a talented team of pastry chefs, these confectionery creations are carefully crafted and overflowing with festive cheer.

Lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

This year’s glorious gingerbread display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is truly grand. The house’s facade mimics the architectural design of the hotel, specifically giving a nod to the new Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast character dining experience new this year at Storytellers Cafe. You can even spot characters like Scrooge McDuck, and 25 Hidden Mickeys are nestled into the piece!

Using features of the American Craftsman style of design and the distinct color palette of brown and green earthy tones seen throughout the Grand Californian, the talented pastry team added elements like snow, bows, and wreaths to make the house truly feel like a holiday home. It took 520 pounds of gingerbread dough and 720 hours to produce this festive feat, which guests can now find in the hotel lobby.

Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Park

This year’s gingerbread house inside the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction is an homage to the Raven, one of the mansion’s ghostly inhabitants who guides guests on their journey, but takes a holiday of his own when the residents of Halloween Town come to visit.

Titled “A Murder Most Fowl,” the gingerbread house showcases 13 crows taking up residence in this haunting abode in his absence, and these feathered friends may be spotted moving from their perch, or watching you pass by with their glowing red eyes. A team of eight pastry chefs needed nearly 20 days and over 200 pounds of gingerbread to assemble this sweet spectacle, which stands at 13 feet tall.

This is a must-see and smell item for your holiday bucket list, especially because the mansion ballroom does indeed possess the scent of fresh gingerbread.

More Ways to Enjoy Gingerbread at Disneyland Resort

The gingerbread fun doesn’t stop there! Chip ‘n’ Dale can be found gleefully greeting guests in their festive gingerbread outfits for a limited time in Town Square in Disneyland Park. And as part of the seasonal celebrations, guests can spot some dancing gingerbread cookies in “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” as these cheerful characters make their way down Main Street, U.S.A.*.
