Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers will soon debut a brand-new hilt theme called “Reclaimed and Reforged” at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort
This new, limited-time offering will be available on Planet Batuu starting May 4, 2025, while supplies last
Guests will be able to build their own lightsabers from scraps that have been scavenged by different pirates throughout the galaxy and made their way to Batuu
As just discussed at the Walt Disney Imagineering panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan, guests will soon be able to chart a new path inside Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort for a limited time beginning May 4, 2025!
Reclaim and Reforge New Savi’s Workshop Lightsabers
The remains of ancient battles, crashed ships and other abandoned pieces of scrap can be found all over the galaxy. To most people it may look like junk, but to the resourceful Jedi, it may just be the key to constructing a new lightsaber.
In the new hilt theme titled “Reclaimed and Reforged,” guests will be able to build their own lightsabers from scraps that have been scavenged from the distant reaches of the galaxy’s outer rim and have made their way to Batuu. When brought together, they form something entirely new — yet forever bound to the mysteries of the past.
Each guest’s story begins the moment they meet one of Savi’s Gatherers outside his workshop, where they will choose one available hilt theme for their experience. While “Reclaimed and Reforged” is only available for a limited time, guests can still choose from four other themes year-round inside Savi’s Workshop:
Peace and Justice
Power and Control
Elemental Nature
Protection and Defense
Next, guests will enter the workshop and begin to assemble their hilt, where parts will be provided based on their theme and identifiable cloisonné pin. Above, guests can see a few parts available from “Reclaimed and Reforged”, where each box of parts includes:
1 hilt
4 sleeves (pick 2)
2 emitters (pick 1)
2 pommel caps (pick 1)
2 sets of activation plates and switches (pick 1 set)
Once the hilt is completed and any unused parts are returned to Savi’s inventory, it will finally be time to connect the hilt to a lightsaber blade!
Whether the chosen kyber crystal makes your blade ignite red, blue, green or violet is up to you – will you follow the ways of the Jedi, or harness the dark side of the Force like the Sith?
Ready to transform these scattered and reclaimed parts into elegant tools that symbolize the balance of the Force? Purchase is required and advanced reservations are highly encouraged for this experience at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and the experience area is limited to the builder and two guests, where at least one person in the party must be age 14 or older.
Explore Batuu and Show Off in Even More Star Wars Spirit
In the panel, Imagineers also discussed how interactive experiences expand beyond attractions inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, such as in the land’s merchandise and food and beverage. Check out this life-size MSE droid that guests can remote control, or even the classic refreshment orbs with Aurebesh writing that can be purchased throughout the land on both coasts.
Every creative decision is made with care in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to ensure an immersive experience for all guests, whether guests are constructing their very own droid inside Droid Depot or shopping for a rotating collection of mysterious galactic artifacts inside Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.
Plus, our panel moderator, Ashley Eckstein (the voice of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels), has brought some of her influence from the Star Wars galaxy to Disney Experiences! Items from Her Universe, the groundbreaking fangirl fashion company featuring dresses, tees, jackets and more, are now available at Disneyland Resort and coming soon to Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Store.
Fly the New “Mandalorian” Adventure on the Millennium Falcon Next May
Starting May 22, 2026, at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, a new and interactive adventure is also coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run that will allow guests to control the iconic ship like never before.
For the first time ever, the crew will be in control of their own story alongside Din Djarin and Grogu, leading to potential adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor or the just-announced bustling city-planet, Coruscant.
Set your coordinates to Disney Parks and kick it into hyperdrive because May the 4th is almost here! And to celebrate, the culinary teams at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Paris are working hard to blast your tastebuds into another system!
This year, you can expect to see some returning favorites alongside new galactic goodies like the Sliced Eopie Wrap at Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Yoda Burger at Disneyland Paris. All these mission approved rations are packed with enough fuel to keep you going even through the toughest situations (mostly deciding which of these treats to try next).
Still looking for more delicious foods? Check out the Season of the Force Foodie Guide for items available at Disneyland Resort through May 11. Travelers attending Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite may delight in exclusive treats, only served during this separately ticked, after-hours celebration.

This year, cast members at Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the culinary crown jewel of Walt Disney World, are celebrating the honor of retaining their status as a MICHELIN star restaurant!
For over 20 years cast have provided a signature dining experience known for its lavish setting, offering a multi-course dining experience that features carefully curated menus with premium and sustainable ingredients sourced from around the world.
Maître d’Hôtel and Walt Disney Legacy Award Winner Israel Perez showcases the current Victoria & Albert’s seasonal menu
“The ingredients drive the menu,” Chef de Cuisine and Walt Disney Legacy Award Winner Matthew Sowers explains. “We use the freshest seafood and highest quality meat from across the globe as the base of our dishes. For example, the Glacier 51 Toothfish on the current menu can only be found in the Arctic more than one mile under the ocean’s surface.”
Creating an experience where timeless traditions seamlessly blend with modern culinary artistry takes teamwork, and there’s no shortage of it in the Victoria & Albert’s kitchen. Guests are served a wide range of small courses inspired by the culinary team’s travels, cultural backgrounds and personal stories.
“The Miyazaki A-5 Wagyu on the current menu is inspired by Chef Miguel’s Venezuelan roots. During the winter months, beef and cabbage are staple ingredients in his family’s meals,” shares Sharon, a cast member who has served at the restaurant for over 20 years. “And the Norwegian King Crab is a nod to Chef Gabriella’s home country of Norway. We have Chefs from all over the world bringing their stories to life in every dish – curating a fine dining experience in a way only Disney can.”
Sharon, a 22-year cast member at Victoria & Albert’s showing the plated wagyu with a celebratory pour
Always evolving, the menu of Disney’s MICHELIN star restaurant shifts with the season, delighting returning guests with new and unique flavors every time every visit. With a world-class wine collection boasting over 500 selections, each course is thoughtfully paired to enhance the experience from start to finish.
But ask the team what they believe is the secret to their success, and you won’t hear them talk about stars or awards.
“It’s because we’re a family. We all really do care for the restaurant and each other,” says Chef Nathan, who moved from Pennsylvania to Florida to join the Victoria & Albert’s culinary team due to its strong reputation. “Every single one of us goes above and beyond. We have a shared vision of excellence.”
Victoria & Albert’s remains the first and only restaurant owned and operated by a U.S. theme park destination to hold a MICHELIN Star. The cast are an incredible example of how Walt Disney World continues to raise the bar for exceptional dining – from iconic Disney-themed snacks and immersive restaurants in the parks, to unforgettable fine dining experiences like this one.
Congratulations to the cast of Victoria & Albert’s on this extraordinary distinction!

Roasted vegetables, seasoned chicken, andouille sausage and cannellini beans come together with seven different greens to create a hearty and flavorful dish. If you want the 7 Greens Gumbo to be a plant-based dish, it can easily be served without the chicken and andouille sausage.

12 ounces mild andouille sausage, sliced
1/2 pound boneless chicken thighs, diced
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning mix
GUMBO
2 (15 1/2 ounce) cans cannellini beans, divided
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, sliced
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning mix
1 tablespoon gumbo filé
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 bunch collard greens, stems removed and cut into thin strips
1 bunch mustard greens, stems removed and cut into thin strips
1 bunch Swiss chard, stems removed and cut into thin strips
1 bunch kale, stems removed and cut into thin strips
1 bunch spinach, cut into thin strips
2 cups watercress, larger stems removed and cut into thin strips
1 bunch parsley, finely chopped
4 cups vegetable stock, divided
4 cups cooked white rice
Reserved Chicken and Andouille Sausage
Reserved Roasted Vegetables
Hot sauce, to taste
FOR ROASTED VEGETABLES:
Combine yams, sweet potatoes, okra and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and rest at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 425°F. Roast vegetables for 10-12 minutes, until browned and fully cooked.
Keep warm until ready to serve.
FOR CHICKEN AND ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE:
Heat vegetable oil in medium sauté pan over medium heat for 5 minutes, until hot. Add sliced andouille sausage and cook for 5-6 minutes, until browned. Transfer to plate using slotted spoon.
Season chicken thighs with Cajun seasoning and add to sauté pan, scraping up any browned bits from the andouille sausage. Cook over medium heat for 6-8 minutes, until chicken thighs are fully cooked. Transfer to plate using slotted spoon.
Keep warm until ready to serve.
FOR GUMBO:
Purée one can of cannellini beans in a blender or food processor; set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes, until hot. Add puréed beans and cook, stirring continuously for 15 minutes, until tan in color.
Add onions and sauté for 6 minutes, until translucent. Add bell pepper and celery and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in garlic, Cajun seasoning, gumbo filé, salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add 2 cups of vegetable stock and bring to a simmer. Slowly add collard greens, mustard greens, Swiss chard and kale, stirring to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes. Drain liquid from remaining can of cannellini beans. Add to skillet with remaining 2 cups of vegetable stock, spinach, watercress and parsley. Stir to combine. Add additional salt and pepper, as needed.
Ladle into bowls with rice. Top with reserved Chicken and Andouille Sausage and Roasted Vegetables. Add a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce, to taste.
Cook’s Note: For a plant-based version of this recipe, omit the chicken and andouille sausage.
Always use caution when handling sharp objects and hot contents.
Please supervise children who are helping or nearby.
This recipe has been converted from a larger quantity in the restaurant kitchens.
The flavor profile may vary from the restaurant’s version.
If you like a little extra kick in your gumbo, try a few dashes of Mama Odie’s Hot Sauce; it’s the bee’s knees!
And for a special treat, Dooky Chase’s Gumbo Base can be used in place of the gumbo filé. If Dooky Chase’s Restaurant sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the restaurant that was owned and operated by the legendary chef Leah Chase! Her story was one of the inspirations for the character of Princess Tiana in Walt Disney Animation Studios “The Princess and the Frog,” and later in the development of the upcoming attraction by Walt Disney Imagineering — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
You can find Mama Odie’s Hot Sauce and assorted Dooky Chase’s Seasonings this summer at Main Street Confectionery and Critter Co-Op when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Walt Disney World Resort this summer and later this year at Disneyland park. We’re excited this will be the first time guests can buy Dooky Chase’s Gumbo Base, Seafood Seasoning, Meat Seasoning and Fried Chicken Seasoning outside of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant!
