Disney BoardWalk Changes: What’s Closing and What’s Coming in 2026

The Disney BoardWalk changes keep coming, and Disney confirmed the next wave for late 2026. Three longtime spots have closed for good, and three new experiences will take their place. Here is what closed, what is replacing it, and when each new addition opens.

What are the Disney BoardWalk changes?

Disney’s BoardWalk sits along Crescent Lake next to EPCOT, themed to a turn-of-the-century coastal promenade. The district has been evolving for years. Recent updates include a Stage Door General Store remodel, lobby refreshes at the Inn, and the opening of The Cake Bake Shop. The latest news fills three vacancies with a new lounge, a new shop, and a new restaurant.

What closed permanently at Disney’s BoardWalk?

Three fan-favorite locations have closed for good in recent years:

Jellyrolls (the dueling piano bar closed April 19, 2025, after nearly 30 years, and is relocating to Lake Buena Vista about ten minutes away)
Promenade Fine Art Gallery (closed in 2025 and moved to Pointe Orlando on International Drive)
Big River Grille & Brewing Works (closed in 2024)

Hurly-Burly will replace Jellyrolls

Hurly-Burly is a new lounge moving into the former Jellyrolls space. Disney themes it as a historic seaside theater, leaning into the BoardWalk’s coastal story.

The lounge serves two different crowds. By day, a host leads family-friendly trivia and games. By night, it becomes a live music venue for guests ages 21 and older, with coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites. Hurly-Burly opens in late 2026.

Basin on the BoardWalk replaces the art gallery

Basin on the BoardWalk takes over the former Promenade Fine Art Gallery space. The handcrafted bath and body shop carries soaps, bath bombs, bath salts, body butters, lip salves, and shampoo and conditioner bars.

Interactive touches set this shop apart. You will find a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press for a personalized finish. Basin opens in late 2026.

A new quick-service restaurant is coming

Disney is also bringing a new quick-service restaurant to the BoardWalk in place of Big River Grille & Brewing Works. Disney has not named the spot or shared its concept yet. The company says more details will arrive later in summer 2026.

Once open, the restaurant will join the BoardWalk’s other quick-service options, including Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, BoardWalk Deli, and The Cake Bake Shop Bakery.

A Whimsical Welcome to the Reimagined Lounge

As you step into The Garden View Lounge, it feels like walking into a sunlit conservatory. My personal favorite part of the space is the floor-to-ceiling windows. No matter the time of day, natural light pours into the room, giving the entire space a warm, inviting glow.

As you look closer into the space, the furniture strikes a balance between modern comfort and classic Victorian, making the lounge feel fresh while honoring the beloved Grand Floridian style guests know and love.

Details That Bring the Space to Life

As with any Disney location, the magic is in the details. The floral patterns, plush fabrics, and gentle hues of green, blue, and gold create a serene atmosphere that feels connected to nature.

Organic shapes appear throughout the room, portraying the flowers and leaves you’d find in a flourishing garden, creating a lush escape for anyone who enters.

The brass-framed mirrors resemble flower petals, reflecting an outdoor garden, while the stained-glass windows featuring native Floridian birds add color, character, and warmth.

Looking down, the gorgeous carpet inspired by winding garden vines will have you stop in your tracks (it was one of the first things I noticed about the space!). Do you see anything special integrated into the design?

A Timeless Tradition Returns

This long-awaited Afternoon Tea Service returns with a delicious menu inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, of course served with a unique presentation of loose leaf teas from Twinings. Adults are welcome to choose between a traditional tea service or a plant-based option, while younger guests can enjoy a special children’s tea. It’s a thoughtful approach that makes the experience feel welcoming for families, couples, and solo tea lovers alike.
