Disney BoardWalk Changes: What’s Closing and What’s Coming in 2026
The Disney BoardWalk changes keep coming, and Disney confirmed the next wave for late 2026. Three longtime spots have closed for good, and three new experiences will take their place. Here is what closed, what is replacing it, and when each new addition opens.
What are the Disney BoardWalk changes?
Disney’s BoardWalk sits along Crescent Lake next to EPCOT, themed to a turn-of-the-century coastal promenade. The district has been evolving for years. Recent updates include a Stage Door General Store remodel, lobby refreshes at the Inn, and the opening of The Cake Bake Shop. The latest news fills three vacancies with a new lounge, a new shop, and a new restaurant.
What closed permanently at Disney’s BoardWalk?
Three fan-favorite locations have closed for good in recent years:
- Jellyrolls (the dueling piano bar closed April 19, 2025, after nearly 30 years, and is relocating to Lake Buena Vista about ten minutes away)
- Promenade Fine Art Gallery (closed in 2025 and moved to Pointe Orlando on International Drive)
- Big River Grille & Brewing Works (closed in 2024)
Hurly-Burly will replace Jellyrolls
Hurly-Burly is a new lounge moving into the former Jellyrolls space. Disney themes it as a historic seaside theater, leaning into the BoardWalk’s coastal story.
The lounge serves two different crowds. By day, a host leads family-friendly trivia and games. By night, it becomes a live music venue for guests ages 21 and older, with coastal-inspired cocktails and light bites. Hurly-Burly opens in late 2026.

Basin on the BoardWalk replaces the art gallery
Basin on the BoardWalk takes over the former Promenade Fine Art Gallery space. The handcrafted bath and body shop carries soaps, bath bombs, bath salts, body butters, lip salves, and shampoo and conditioner bars.
Interactive touches set this shop apart. You will find a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press for a personalized finish. Basin opens in late 2026.

A new quick-service restaurant is coming
Disney is also bringing a new quick-service restaurant to the BoardWalk in place of Big River Grille & Brewing Works. Disney has not named the spot or shared its concept yet. The company says more details will arrive later in summer 2026.
Once open, the restaurant will join the BoardWalk’s other quick-service options, including Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, BoardWalk Deli, and The Cake Bake Shop Bakery.

When do the new BoardWalk experiences open?
Disney has confirmed that all three additions begin arriving in late 2026. The company has not released individual opening dates for Hurly-Burly, Basin, or the new restaurant. We will update this guide as Disney shares firm dates and the restaurant name.
What this means for MouseDining readers
If you love the BoardWalk for its nightlife, Hurly-Burly brings live music and an adults-only evening scene back to the west end. If you visit with family, the daytime trivia and games give you a new reason to stop in. Either way, the district is getting busier and more reasons to book a stay.
Planning a 2026 trip? Watch for the restaurant announcement later this summer, and see the MouseDining BoardWalk dining guides for current options while the new spots take shape.
