If you love food and you love fun, rejoice! We are very excited to share that starting today, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is back at the Disneyland Resort, bringing culinary delights with a Disney twist! This limited-time event, filled with lots of foodie fun for the whole family, runs through April 26, 2022.
Let’s start our tour with a dozen different outdoor Festival Marketplaces, where you can sip and savor your way through tantalizing small plates and innovative beverages. Each location is inspired by fresh, California-grown ingredients like avocados, citrus, strawberries, peppers and artisanal cheese. You can also discover a variety of craft beers and wines from all across the Golden State. Plant-based, allergy-friendly, gluten-friendly and kid-friendly dishes are also available to please a variety of palates.
For a great value on this epicurean adventure, you may choose to purchase the Sip and Savor Pass,* which gives you eight opportunities to try a variety of items at participating locations throughout Disney California Adventure park. Be sure to also pick up a Tasting Passport, to check everything on the list!
And to read more about the delicious dishes, check out the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Foodie Guide!
Learn cooking tips and tricks during complimentary culinary demonstrations, as Disney chefs and visiting chefs showcase their talents by preparing their favorite recipes on stage, weekends throughout the festival.
You may even choose to partake in bookable signature events to expand your knowledge on wine, beer and spirits with seminars at Sonoma Terrace or at Carthay Circle Winemaker Receptions. These events require a separate fee, and advance bookings are recommended.** You can learn more about all these offerings on Disneyland.com.
When you’re ready to take a little breather, the cooking-themed fun continues! Catch live entertainment such as Chip ‘n’ Dale and the Jammin’ Chefs drumming up new beats, visit with Chef Goofy, do craft activities and visit the new “Alice’s Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party,” where children ages 3 through 11 can have a sweet time decorating cupcakes.*** Visit the Disneyland app**** for details and show times.
Adding to this bountiful celebration, Soarin’ Over California is returning to Disney California Adventure park for a limited time. This epic, aerial adventure takes you gliding over the Golden State’s natural and man-made wonders, from the iconic Golden Gate Bridge to the crashing waves of Malibu. Its immersive, 80-foot projection dome simulates the graceful motion of flight and teases the senses with notable scents found throughout California!
While you’re here, you may want to scoop up a few foodie mementos including special festival apparel, kitchenware, artwork and collectibles.
Hungry for more? Over in the Downtown Disney District, you can enjoy Friends of the Festival menu items at nine participating restaurants, special tasting events, crafts, live musical entertainment nightly on the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage, and weekend artist signings at WonderGround Gallery. Ask about the tequila “Sips and Salsa” events at Tortilla Jo’s, the “Pizza and Pinot” events at Naples Ristorante e Bar, or check out the Patina Group website for more details.
Making it even more colorful and festive, look for the chalk artists doing beautiful work in the Downtown Disney District, at the Disneyland Hotel and at the Paradise Gardens Gazebo in Disney California Adventure park. There’s also a festival mural, perfect for photo ops at the west end of the promenade.
At the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort, more Friends of the Festival tastings and education experiences are available to the public. This includes food and beverage pairings featuring Golden Road Brewing, Peltzer Family Cellars and sake from Nova Brewing Co. at GCH Craftsman Bar at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The Disneyland Hotel is presenting a mixology seminar at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, as well as a lovely outdoor winemaker reception with culinary action stations, featuring Silver Oak/Twomey wines. These special hotel events each include a commemorative gift. A separate fee is required, and advance bookings are recommended. For a complete list of opportunities and to book, visit Disneyland.com/FoodandWine.
If you love sweets, this latest edition of Sweet Treats will have you running over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try out the latest and greatest indulgences. This spring, the chefs have whipped up some truly decadent items crafted especially for those sweet tooth extraordinaries, like us, to live out their own culinary adventures at the park. We don’t know about you, but we can’t resist a dessert when we see one. And trust us, these treats are not to be missed.
Starting today, all across Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll be able to get your hands on these delicious dishes to celebrate the fresh flavors of spring! We hope you and your taste buds are ready, because you won’t be able to resist this Sweet Treats roundup.
First off, let’s take a little trip over to Sunset Boulevard where multiple locations are serving up sweets. At Hollywood Scoops, the Orange Blossom Shake has everything you need to stay cool and, most importantly, satisfied. This orange and cream milkshake is absolutely beautiful (and tasty), topped with whipped cream and an orange-scented donut – how can you resist that? As an avid milkshake and donut connoisseur, I know I’ll be dropping into the Hollywood Scoops for this shake (likely more than once).
If you’re interested in a treat that’s inspired by a tale as old as time, the Beauty and the Beast Rose at Catalina Eddie’s will make you feel the love … or maybe that’s just your sweet tooth calling? This dessert is as beautiful as it is tasty – take a look for yourself! This dark chocolate mousse with a taste of black currant and Morello cherry sits atop a chocolate shortbread cookie, whipped cookies, and cream fluff, and is gorgeously topped with gilded chocolate-covered cocoa nibs.
At Rosie’s All-American Café, the S’mores Cupcake will light up your appetite. What could be better than chocolate and marshmallows on a cupcake? This fudge-filled chocolate cupcake, and yes, I did say fudge-filled, is topped with graham cracker buttercream, toasted marshmallows, and even a mini chocolate bar.
If you’re looking for a twist on a classic Mickey apple, The Trolley Car Café has got you covered. Here you’ll find the Chocolate-covered Apple, a dark chocolate and peanut butter crunch dipped Granny Smith apple with marshmallow ears. Not only is it absolutely adorable and a Disney treat staple, but it’s delicious too! Sounds like a win-win to me.
Next up, we have the ABC Commissary. This spot brought its best for this roundup because they have not one but two delicious desserts – one minty and one tropical-tasting!
First up, we have the Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. Enjoy this chocolate cheesecake topped with dark chocolate ganache and whipped mint chocolate chip cream. Few things go together quite as well as mint and chocolate, and when you throw in the fact that this is a cheesecake, it’s a must-try treat.
Also being served up at ABC Commissary is the Tropical Tart. This lovely dessert is a mango passionfruit curd-filled graham cracker tart topped with whipped raspberry vanilla bean panna cotta, toasted coconut, and dehydrated strawberry and passionfruit. With all these fresh, fruity flavors, this treat is a spring staple!
If you ever wondered what strawberries, cheesecake, and cannoli tasted like together, well you’re in for a treat. PizzeRizzo is joining in on the spring fun with the Strawberry Cheesecake Cannoli. This white chocolate and rainbow sprinkled dipped cannoli shell filled with whipped strawberry cheesecake is a must-try. Just look at how pretty it is!
And last but certainly not least, we venture over to where the toys hang out to find our final treat. If you stop into Woody’s Lunch Box, you’ll find the newest addition to their sweet selections – the Banana Fudge Lunch Box Tart. This peanut butter and chocolate fudge stuffed pastry is coated with banana fondant, banana chips, and rainbow sprinkles. I don’t know about you, but I think bananas and fudge are a great combo and I can guarantee I will be heading over for repeat tastings of this tart.
And there you have it – the Sweet Treats of spring at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I hope you and your tastebuds enjoy all these desserts. Let your sweet tooth adventures begin!
One of the most remarkable moments during a Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage is the dining experience you have onboard. What made this so memorable, more than the amazing food? Dining onboard the Halcyon starcruiser engages all five of your senses, not just your taste buds, fulfilling the promise of surrounding you in a truly immersive Star Wars experience. Let’s break it down!
Taste
The chefs on the Halcyon starcuiser come from the far corners of the galaxy and bring their own special dishes to the fore. Whether it’s the Bantha Beef, Tip Yip Chicken, or the Seared Kashyyyk Whitefish from Chewbacca’s homeworld, this is an intergalactic tour de force of familiar tastes with new and unexpected textures.
Sight
The Crown of Corellia Dining Room onboard the starcruiser is a feast for the eyes. Here you dine beneath three large circular, multi-layered chandeliers complemented by a dazzling lighting display throughout the supper club. The lights go full-on concert mode when Gaya, the galactic superstar from the planet Ryloth, performs her biggest hits during the first night’s dinner. Then the next night the lighting changes colors to evoke the aesthetics of each course during a “Taste Around the Galaxy.”
Sound
Oh, did I mention Gaya? She is, in a word, stunning. The Twi’lek singer glides effortlessly past the tables as her powerful voice fills every nook and cranny of the room. If you listen closely, though, you may learn more about the galaxy – and why Gaya is on this ship to begin with.
Smell
I don’t know if I had an expectation for what dining in a galaxy far, far away is supposed to smell like … but this is it. Every meal brings its own tantalizing aroma that will have your mouth watering before you take the first bite.
Touch
The Sublight Lounge offers great nightcap options after a fantastic dinner. Here you see three options off the creative cocktail options like the Hoth Ice Breaker pictured here. These drinks hit on multiple senses with exotic flavors and photo-worthy looks. But one thing that really sets them apart is the glassware, which just feels cool to hold. It’s a small detail, but so important when creating an immersive experience that makes you feel like you’ve traveled to another galaxy.
For more info on the dining experience and much more, visit www.starwarsgalacticstarcruiser.com. And keep checking back with us here at the Disney Parks Blog as we race toward opening day on March 1.
We hope you’re hungry because the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is just around the corner. The fun and feasting doesn’t stop at just the festival marketplaces. Oh no! You can enjoy this celebration all around Disney California Adventure park. There is truly no shortage of food and drinks to enjoy this year! And don’t forget about the Sip and Savor Pass, which allows you to try up to eight different food and non-alcoholic beverage items at participating locations. Use all eight tabs yourself – or split with a friend! You can purchase your pass at several locations through Disney California Adventure park.
Fully immerse yourself into the flavors and culture of California by attending weekend cooking demonstrations with professional chefs, jamming out to live music, or enhance your visit with exclusive festival and bookable experiences within the park, including the Carthay Circle Winemaker Receptions or head over to Cocktails @ Sonoma Terrace hosted by CORKCICLE, which features an expanded menu of craft brews, signature cocktails, savory snacks, and more. And what trip is complete without a little shopping to commemorate this foodie extravaganza! Be sure to pick up a Tasting Passport to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the fun or flavors.

During “Alice’s Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party,” kids ages 3 through 11 will have the opportunity to express their creativity through hands-on cupcake decorating. Space is limited, and participant sign-ups begin 45 minutes before each show time.
At the Hollywood Backlot, you may also encounter Chef Goofy or dance along with Chip ‘n’ Dale as the Jammin’ Chefs serve up tasty new rhythms using pots and pans.
On Saturdays and Sundays, be sure to catch a culinary demonstration at the Hollywood Backlot Stage! A diverse lineup of Disney and visiting chefs will prepare their favorite dishes and share insider tips for making mouthwatering meals at home.
Of course, be on the lookout for a new line of Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival merchandise.
Downtown Disney District and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will also join the gastronomic festivities, with select restaurants offering special menu items and events for a limited time.
And here’s the cherry (or should I say “citrus”?) on top: Soarin’ Over California will return to Disney California Adventure park for a limited time during the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, beginning March 4! Once again, you can relish the unforgettable sights, sounds and scents of the Golden State aboard this high-flying attraction.
Stay tuned for more updates as the festival draws nearer! Later this month, we’ll share a Foodie Guide to all the gastronomic goodness that awaits.

Cooking with Soul is a celebration of food, highlighting ingredients with roots in African and Black American history, and the talented Disney chefs who create these dishes across Walt Disney World Resort. As we Celebrate Soulfully, in honor of Black History Month, we’ll be highlighting how chefs have been inspired to develop flavorful creations with relevant ingredients for guests.
Read first about Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, meet Chef Sahib Bhatti, and learn more about his personal connection to a popular ingredient when Cooking with Soul: collard greens.
As a native of Tanzania, Chef Sahib feels right at home cooking up familiar flavors at Sanaa. One of the dishes that makes him particularly nostalgic is Sukuma Wiki, which translates from Swahili to “stretch the week.” Served with market-fresh sustainable fish on a bed of geelrys (yellow rice), Sukuma Wiki is a popular East African dish prepared with onions, garlic, spices and sukuma, more commonly known as collard greens. From his family table in Tanzania, Chef Sahib remembers the dish as approachable and nourishing. “When things are tough, and meat is scarce, you can depend on these bountiful greens to make this soulful braise.”
One of the opportunities he is most grateful for is being able to prepare and share food like Sukuma Wiki from diverse backgrounds. “Food is the best way to get to know a culture. They are intertwined.”
Chef Sahib started his Disney journey eleven years ago at Disney’s Boardwalk, shortly after moving to the U.S. Starting as an entry-level cook and enrolling in culinary school, he knew Disney would provide him a platform to develop and grow in the culinary field, to “complement my love of food, feed my desire to continually learn about cultures and regions, and give me a canvas for creativity.”
Chef Sahib credits his mentors who have guided him throughout his Disney career. For those wishing to become a chef, he offers this advice: “Be hungry, stay humble and respect your products, craft and, most importantly, the people around you.”
Want to try your hand at preparing Sukuma Wiki from Sanaa in your own kitchen? Check out the recipe below. Learn more about Cooking with Soul throughout the Celebrate Soulfully celebration in February and beyond, and explore other dishes at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery (Disney’s Animal Kingdom), Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen (Magic Kingdom), Flame Tree Barbecue (Disney’s Animal Kingdom) and Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ (Disney Springs).
