The time has come to celebrate American barbecue at the NOW OPEN Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue hosted by Coca-Cola at EPCOT! In the heart of The American Adventure pavilion, a glorious restaurant named after the regal-est eagle, Sam the Eagle of The Muppets, joins our ever-growing collection of dining establishments around World Showcase.
This distinctly patriotic fast-casual restaurant has won the honor of hosting “Sam’s Centennial Cook-Off: A Salute to All Cook-Offs but Mostly Barbecue,” a competition fit for all patriots and pit masters. The contest brings a variety of classic backyard barbecue selections from across the country together to battle it out for Sam’s top award.
On the menu are BBQ dishes such as Kansas City smoked chicken, Memphis dry-rub pork ribs, North Carolina chopped smoked pork butt, and a Texas beef brisket sandwich. For those looking for a lighter option, the Power Greens Salad is a great choice, too, with fresh citrus fruit, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and radishes drizzled with a fresh citrus vinaigrette and topped with chilled pulled chicken. There is also a delicious plant-based BBQ Jackfruit Burger served on garlic toast.
Outside, the outdoor bar and patio is a great place to sit back and enjoy a selection of all-American beverages, too! The drink menu features craft brews and ciders from across the country on draft as well as wines from the west coast, Coca-Cola fountain beverages, and specialty regional cocktails like the Tennessee Lemonade with whiskey and peach or the non-alcoholic Berry Punch with white grape juice, strawberry, peach, and blackberry.
In addition, at a nearby merchandise cart, you will be able to browse a selection of exclusive merchandise featuring none other than Sam the Eagle. Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue is NOW OPEN at EPCOT! Come on down and celebrate the art of American BBQ.

Between the new nighttime spectacular, “Epcot Forever,” the opening of Walt Disney Imagineering Presents the Epcot Experience, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and all of the new dining experiences and attractions coming to Epcot, it’s an exciting time to be eating your way around World Showcase! Here’s a quick overview of what’s new.
First up, there have been a couple new openings this month as part of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Head on over to Future World East near Test Track to try out The Donut Box and Cool Wash. At The Donut Box you’ll find Sweet Corn Fritters with Fresno and red pepper jelly as well as Strawberry-dusted Yeast Donut Holes. On the beverage menu there are several sweet sips including a Strawberry Smoothie (garnished with a donut hole) and, for Guests over the age of 21, a Black and White Coffee Cocktail garnished with a fresh yeast donut with chocolate espresso bean crumbles, plus a Central 28 Beer Company Boston Cream Donut Ale.
Right next door, Cool Wash has reopened with an array of fun slushies! You can now have an interactive experience by creating your own custom slushy blend from six frozen carbonated beverages. Choose from Coke, Fanta Cherry, Fanta Orange, Fanta Banana, Fanta Watermelon and Blue Raspberry – all frozen! In addition, you can choose to top your slushy with candy pebbles, popping pearls, jelly drops, or popping candy. Those over 21 can also enjoy a Coca-Cola Orange Vanilla with gin in a souvenir cup.
Both The Donut Box and Cool Wash will be open through the remainder of the festival, which runs through Nov. 23, 2019.
Also located in Future World, Coral Reef Restaurant will be offering a commemorative menu to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Disney’s animated classic, “The Little Mermaid.” With menu items like the Dinglehopper Shrimp Cocktail, Chef Louis’ Lobster Seafood Boil, and King Triton’s Key Lime Tart, this is a menu you will definitely want to dive right into! When dining here, you will also be able to take home a beautiful commemorative menu (only available while supplies last). This limited-time menu will be available starting Oct. 19, 2019.
Finally, a new kiosk is coming to the Italy pavilion in World Showcase. This new location will replace the current gelato cart and will be operated by Patina Restaurant Group. The kiosk will be scooping up 12 different varieties of gelato and sorbet, including gluten-friendly and plant-based flavors. Its seasonally updated menu will also use locally sourced fruits.
Calling all world-travelers – there’s a new table-service restaurant coming to the World Showcase at Epcot! As previously announced, this new addition to the Japan pavilion will provide a signature dining experience inspired by the natural beauty of Japan.
The restaurant will be named Takumi-Tei, which means house of the artisan. The design celebrates the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world, while the food is inspired by the wonderful collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan. The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef in a sublime setting, and Guests interested in the ultimate experience will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu.
Takumi-Tei will open in the Japan pavilion at Epcot this summer and will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, which operates the merchandise, restaurants (Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining), and kiosks in the Japan pavilion. The new restaurant will add to the rich tapestry of cultural experiences available in World Showcase.
This is Mission Control. You are clear for 2019 entry into the new space-themed restaurant coming to Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort.
That’s right, the new table-service experience will open later this year adjacent to the Mission: SPACE attraction! No dining experience on Earth can match what’s in store, because this new restaurant will take you into outer space for an incredible dining experience that is “out of this world.”
Patina Restaurant Group will operate the new restaurant, and they’ve developed a menu that features internationally-inspired cuisine, more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines and a wide selection of craft beer.
