This fall, the culinary teams at Disneyland Resort have whipped up some truly delicious bites you simply must try – and they’re all plant-based! Whether you follow a plant-based diet full time or are just looking for a mouthwatering delight on your next trip, these five dishes need to be on your list. You won’t want to miss these!
Soy Chorizo Country Breakfast Burrito
Kick-start your day the right way – with the tasty Soy Chorizo Country Breakfast Burrito. Starting Sept. 1, Galactic Grill at Disneyland park will be serving up this plant-based bite featuring soy chorizo, spiced potatoes, grilled peppers, onions, egg, cheddar, pico de gallo, and chipotle sauce perfectly combined in a spinach flour tortilla. Yes, please!
Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles
Also, in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, Alien Pizza Planet has its own dish you’ll be clawing for starting Sept. 1. The Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles brings together noodles with stir-fried vegetables, tosses them with a can’t-miss sesame-ginger sauce, and finishes it off with some cilantro & scallions.
Curry Royale: Queen of Hearts Delight
You’re in for a royal surprise once you taste the Curry Royale: Queen of Hearts Delight starting Sept. 1. If you have reserved a spot at Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace in Disneyland park during the Halloween season, this plant-based item is fit for royalty. It serves up spiced fried cauliflower, basmati and green pea rice, spinach with chickpeas and Romanesco served with curry sauce. And be sure to take a peek at the rest of the Halloween goodies at Disneyland Resort this year in our Foodie Guide.
Sopes de Chorizo con Papas
As you venture over to Disney California Adventure park, stop by the Hollywood Lounge on Aug. 29 where they’ve got the Sopes de Chorizo con Papas. This star-studded bite features refried beans, lettuce and pico de gallo with nopales, cilantro crema, and pickled red onion. You’re going to want to keep coming back for this one all fall long!
Plant-based Chorizo Quesadilla
Get in the spirit with the Plaza de la Familia festivities over at Paradise Garden Grill beginning Sept. 1. Here you’ll find the delicious Plant-based Chorizo Quesadilla. If you love yourself a quesadilla, you’re going to be mesmerized by the flavor with this one. It brings together poblano, onions and mozzarella, topped with cilantro crema, and served with salsa roja and escabeche. Now that’s a quesadilla. To see the rest of the Plaza de la Familia delights, check out our Foodie Guide.
These are just a few of the plant-based bites you can get at Disneyland Resort this fall, but there’s still so many more! Just a few include the Mushroom, Vegetable, and Farro Stew, which is also available in a bread bowl, at Harbour Galley and Poola Blossom Slush at Kat Saka’s Kettle, both available starting Aug. 29, the Pumpkin Crème Brûlée at Wine Country Trattoria starting Sept. 1, and the Sunchoke and Pistachio Pesto Pasta at Blue Bayou Restaurant starting Sept.12. I, for one, can’t wait for all these items to arrive!

The grand opening of Tiana’s Palaceover at Disneyland park is coming soon. On Sept. 7, the doors to this new establishment will be opening to feed hungry guests a little taste of New Orleans inspired by Tiana herself, and we’ve got the full menu for you.
Nestled on Orleans Street, this soon-to-be hotspot will be serving up can’t-miss classics like gumbo and beignets, but with a tasty twist you can only get at this quick-service location. You can even use mobile order to get all the new bites on the way.
With flavors and ingredients coming right out of New Orleans, this new spot is going to be the place to be on your next visit to Disneyland Resort.
Let’s dig a little deeper and find out what our taste buds need on the Tiana’s Palace menu!
If you love gumbo, you’re in for a treat because this spot will feature a couple different options for you to try. The 7 Greens Gumbo is a must-try plant-based option. It features white beans, okra, yams, sweet potatoes, and heirloom rice. You can also feast upon the 7 Greens Gumbo with Chicken & Andouille Sausage if you’re wanting something a little extra. And of course, we’ve got the House Gumbo. This dish is a New Orleans staple combining braised chicken, andouille sausage, and heirloom rice into a mouthwatering delight that’ll leave you coming back for more.
For those wanting a little extra spice from down in New Orleans, the Cajun Spice Half Chicken is the dish for you. The chicken is brushed with a house-made chicory BBQ sauce and served with baked macaroni and cheese & coleslaw. What a combo!
Are handhelds your meal of choice? Tiana’s got you covered too – don’t you worry. The Muffuletta Sandwich stacks mortadella, salami, rosemary ham, cheddar, provolone and house-made olive relish on toasted New Orleans sesame seed bread. Another staple, the Beef Po-boy Sandwich features some slow-cooked beef perfectly coated with gravy and fully dressed with shredded lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise atop toasted New Orleans French bread. Both tasty bites are served alongside red beans and rice and house-made pickles.
Do you love shrimp? Do you love grits? What about shrimp and grits? Well, it’s your lucky day because Tiana is also serving up the Gulf Shrimp and Grits for you. Grilled to perfection and tossed in a Creole sauce, the shrimp are then paired with cheesy grits to form a classic dish that will transport you down the bayou with each bite.
If you want a little something extra to add to your meal, the chefs have put together a lovely array of classic sides, like the Buttermilk Cornbread, Baked Macaroni and Cheese, Red Beans & Heirloom Rice, Coleslaw, Cheesy Grits, and plant-based Heirloom Rice.
For the little ones, there are also some kid meals they’ll love. The Roasted Chicken Drumstick is served with a sweet BBQ sauce and heirloom rice, while the Toasted Ham & Cheese Sandwich is topped with savory ham and provolone. Also, a classic Baked Macaroni and Cheese is on the menu for the kids too! All three of these are accompanied by a Cuties Mandarin Orange and applesauce with choice of DASANI Water or small low-fat milk.
Now onto the star of the show … No restaurant inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Princess and the Frog” could be complete without beignets, and at Tiana’s Palace, dessert is always first. But these delights aren’t your average beignets – oh, no. The House-filled Beignet features a delicious lemon ice box pie filling topped with lemon glaze for the perfect bite.
A specialty sip is also on the menu. The Joffrey’s Coffee Chicory Cold Brew topped with sweet cream is a must for those coffee lovers out there. The Ray Firefly Glow Cube* is also available with the purchase of a beverage. This adorable addition will light up your drink just like Evangeline lights up the night sky.
Last but certainly not least, if you want to take home a piece of Tiana’s Palace with you, the Lily Pad and Lotus Cup Ceramic Set** is for you. And it even comes with a House-filled Beignet for you to sink your teeth into.
Wow – what a tasty lineup the chefs have created! I can’t wait to get a taste of New Orleans right in Disneyland park. With exciting new openings like Tiana’s Palace, there’s no limit to the foodie fun to be had at Disney Parks.

Laissez les bon temps rouler! We’re pleased to announce that the official opening date of Tiana’s Palace restaurant in Disneyland park is September 7, 2023! This reimagined quick-service style restaurant is inspired by the one Princess Tiana created in the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “The Princess and the Frog.”
TheTiana’s Palace restaurant opening will mark the next step in bringing more of Princess Tiana’s stories to life in New Orleans Square, which began with Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets last year and will continue with the opening of the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction in 2024. We are so thrilled to expand upon Princess Tiana’s story, pay homage to the cuisine of the Crescent City, and welcome guests into Tiana’s Palace in just a few short weeks!
There will be so many elegant yet subtle details throughout the restaurant that offer fun hints at Tiana’s rich past in New Orleans. Below the lit marquee that reads “Tiana’s Palace” hanging above a metallic gold balcony, is an emerald green wrought iron railing and awnings dyed in yellow and green, reminiscent of Tiana’s beautiful formal ball gown. You will be surrounded by the colors of Mardi Gras as you sit at yellow tabletops, on warm vanilla-colored chairs with green seats, in the shade of yellow and green umbrellas.
Disney Imagineers also took inspiration from the film for the interior of the restaurant, which includes a large mural of the bayou. You will also see other references to Tiana’s story – lilies represented on numerous signs, plaques and light fixtures, frog porcelains, cookbooks Tiana has collected on little shelves, and her father’s favorite gumbo spoon proudly on display. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for the letters from her father and neighbors on display, alongside a childhood photo of Tiana.
Did you know? The design of Tiana’s Palace from the Disney Animation film “The Princess and the Frog” was actually inspired by the French Market Restaurant – the former restaurant in this space – in New Orleans Square at Disneyland park. In the film, Disney Animation artists added a wheelhouse and two smokestacks to give Tiana’s restaurant an iconic silhouette, so when the time came to bring Tiana’s Palace to life at Disneyland, Disney Imagineers made those same additions to create the real Tiana’s Palace, making this a full circle moment!
We are so excited to welcome you soon to see this exciting transformation, as well as mark the return of the Mint Julep Bar! At Tiana’s Palace, you can enjoy new menu items that represent Tiana’s story and honor the flavors and flair of New Orleans, with an effort to source some ingredients directly from the state of Louisiana when possible. Plus, you’ll now be able to mobile order these new dishes on the Disneyland app* when the location opens. Stay tuned for a first look of the full menu, coming soon to Disney Eats!
We look forward to welcoming you to Tiana’s Palace in New Orleans Square beginning Sept. 7!

Aren’t all these items boo-tiful? This Halloween, Disneyland Resort clearly has no shortage of ways to trick or treat yourself. The foodie adventures are truly endless at Disney Parks.
If you aren’t already hungry, you’re about to be. Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the culinary teams have been hard at work creating some tasty treats and eats for Contempo Café that will blow you away. Starting tomorrow, August 16, these new satisfying selections will be available for your tasting pleasure. From sweet to savory and everything in between, you’ll want to try these dishes. And they’re all on mobile order too!
Let’s get to them – what do you say?
Do you want a yummy breakfast option? You’re in luck because Contempo Café will have two new items for savory and sweet fans alike. Start your day on the right foot, or taste rather, with the new Breakfast Flatbread or go for a sweeter beginning with the Minnie Cinnamon Roll dipped in white chocolate.
Before we get to the desserts, which are sure to make your mouth water, there are some new and enhanced savory items joining this tasty lineup. As lunch and dinner roll around, try the returning, updated classic Four-Cheese Grilled Cheese & Tomato-Basil Soup or opt for the new Spicy Chicken Sandwich – a crispy chicken breast topped with pepper jack, chipotle rémoulade, arugula, seasoned tomato, and dill pickle chips served on a brioche bun. In addition to these handhelds, starting at 4 p.m. each day, you’ll be able to sink your teeth into the can’t-miss Signature Rice Bowls. The bowls are a perfect combination of cilantro-lime rice, black beans, street corn, avocado, pico de gallo, carrot, and pickled red onion. Then they are topped with a protein of your choice – grilled shrimp, braised beef, grilled chicken, or plant-based crispy tofu.
Now the moment the sweet tooth foodies have been waiting for – dessert! The pastry chefs have brought their A-game with six – yes, six – new decadent bites. The Monorail S’more Brownie is a nod to the monorail that wizzes by overhead while you dine at Contempo Café. It’s a fudgy brownie with a graham cracker crust topped with marshmallow crème and chocolate décor. Yes, yes, and yes.
For a fruity flavor, the 5-Legged Goat Fruit Tart draws inspiration from the iconic Mary Blair Grand Canyon Concourse mural’s 5-Legged Goat. This bite features a vanilla tart shell filled with raspberry-lemon curd topped with fresh fruit and lemon whipped cream. How delicious!
The chocolate keeps on coming with the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums Cupcake. This chocolate cupcake topped with chocolate chip cookie dough mousse is inspired by The Incredibles and their presence throughout Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The new Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar is also sure to satisfy chocolate fans and is plant-based as well as gluten and wheat friendly!
If cookies are your treat of choice, the new Signature Deluxe Cookies are the move. These three cookies include a Chocolate Chunk Cookie with peanut butter buttercream, a Churro Cookie with cinnamon buttercream, and Kitchen Sink Cookie, a chocolate chip cookie with salted caramel, Mickey chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, butterscotch, and walnuts. While these three will all be available year-round, there will also be a seasonal sugar cookie that will rotate throughout the year too.
Last but certainly not least, get the perfect taste of summer in cookie form with the Strawberry Lemonade Sugar Cookie. This delight, available August 16 through September 30, is topped with strawberry buttercream and patriotic sprinkles.
What flavorful bites are on the way! This location is sure to impress with these new additions. There’s no limit to the tasty adventures to be had at Disney Parks!
Not long ago, Disney announced that the dining reservation systems at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort would receive an update. The Disneyland dining update to advanced dining reservations is rolling out, allowing guests to see more time options.
The main advantage of his Disneyland dining update revolves around seeing all the dining time slots available. This should make things easier for guests looking for a particular restaurant but have flexibility on time.
Before this, guests could only see a few reservation times pop up if they specified a specific time frame when searching for reservations. With the new update, guests see four timeslots as the default option. However, people can scroll to the right or hit the link for more time now. Depending on if you are using the Disneyland mobile app or a web browser determines what options you have to view more times. We found this very easy to use via both methods.
We chose to search for advance dining reservations at Carthay Circle Lounge at Disneyland Resort. To start this process, we located that restaurant on the Disneyland mobile app. After that, we hit the link to see more times. At this point, we saw all the lunch and dinner times.
You can also “check dining availability.” We were asked to select our party size, date, and time desired when we did this.
You will be required to log in to search for dining reservations. When you select dining availability this way, you will see all available advance dining reservations for that time period. We found that guests might see up to four timeslots per restaurant based on availability this way. At this point, you should see a way to check for ALL times.
Advance Dining Reservation Options with Disneyland Dining Update
At this point, you should see all the advanced dining reservation options for the day selected for a particular restaurant. In addition, if some special dining events are happening at that restaurant, like Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure, you see those also. Once you select a specific reservation time, the Disney system will present you with an “Add Ons” page for items such as Celebration Cakes. You will also be asked about dietary and accessibility requests.
In order to complete an advance dining reservation, guests must enter their email and phone number. These are required for complete the reservation. A credit card number must be entered to make this dining reservation. As a result, be careful not to cancel the reservation if you change your mind or you will most likely be charged a fee for this error.
While making your advanced dining reservation, a ten-minute holding time will be placed on your attempt to reserve slot. if you wait or take more than ten minutes, you will need to start over. Ten minutes is plenty of time so do not let that concern you. However, if you get distracted by real life, your desired timeslot might disappear. Fortunately, you can set alerts on MouseDining.com, if this happens to you.
System Looks to Be Rolling Out Slowly
If you attempt to make an advance dining reservation at a Disneyland Resort restaurant but do not see this type of interface, do not be alarmed. The updates are being rolled out slowly. Not every visitor to the Disneyland mobiel app or website will see the new update. This pattern fits a common rollout practice for website and mobile app updates. This allows for testing before all users get the new interface. Either way, the links at the MouseDining Calendar still function fine. Nonetheless, MouseDining.com. links may take you to a page saying “Guarantee Your Reservation” When this has happened to use, we simply follow the prompts to make our advance dining reservation.
We hope this resource helps as you plan your Disneyland Resort vacation. Of course, the MouseDining Blog can help with various dining reviews and Disney food news. As always, eat like you mean it!
Attention foodies! We’ve got some exciting, and tasty, news to share. A delicious destination at Walt Disney World Resort will be getting some new additions to its menu – The Artist’s Paletteat Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
This location will be getting a variety of new dishes sure to make you and your taste buds very happy starting tomorrow, August 9. Whether you like sweet, savory, or a little of both, you’ll want to check out this location on your next visit once you see what the talented culinary team has in store for you.
Let’s race over to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa to see what flavors The Artist’s Palette has painted up for us, shall we?
This location offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner and, starting tomorrow, will be home to a new selection of eats and some returning favorites, all available on mobile order! Start your day with Chef Nick Walker’s new plant-based creation – the Avocado Toast – because who doesn’t love avocado toast? This breakfast bite features avocado, cherry tomatoes, radish, pickled red onions, arugula, and “aïoli” on toasted sunflower bread.
If you’re in for a sweeter start, try the French Toast Strata, a popular breakfast offering now updated with a delicious crème anglaise. It’s also served with fresh berries and your choice of bacon or sausage.
On the move for an exciting adventure at the resort or parks? The grab-and-go marketsection is filled with offerings sure to please your palette, including the new Charcuterie with Chef’s selection of cheeses, cured meats, and traditional accompaniments. Another addition will be the Turkey BLT served with chef’s house-made pimento cheese.
Any sandwich lovers out there? How about ones from Western New York? If so, the Beef on Weck is inspired by the classic mainstay of the region. It’s made up of sliced brisket and horseradish cream on a caraway brioche bun served with au jus and Saratoga chips. Another handheld option is the tasty Tuna Salad Sandwich on toasted sunflower bread.
For pizza lovers, The Artist’s Palette is home to a wonderful pizza hearth, with dough prepared in-house. The Margherita Pizza remains but has been updated from its previous iteration, now with mozzarella, fresh pizza sauce, and basil pistou on house-made pizza dough.
As dinnertime rolls around after 4:00 p.m., this spot will feature three create-your-own entrées – the Homestyle Meatloaf, Sautéed Garlic Shrimp, and Herb-roasted Chicken. All three of these dishes are served with your choice of two sides – Yukon gold mashed potatoes, garlic green beans, roasted rainbow carrots, steamed white rice, or edamame succotash. What a meal!
If you’re a fan of the longtime favorite, the Saratoga Salad, don’t worry. This staple is here to stay! It combines mixed field greens, feta, dried cranberries, apples, spiced walnuts, crispy ciabatta croutons, and lemon-poppy seed vinaigrette. Now that’s my kind of salad. Another signature offering that you can’t miss is the Ham & Cheese Panini. This bite features sliced ham, smoked gouda, dijon mustard, and quattro formaggi spread pressed to perfection.
For a sweet finish, the bakery team has put together two new treats you’re going to love. First up is the Derby Day Pie. This delight is inspired by traditional sweets from a day at the racetrack and features a pie shell with chocolate-nut filling topped with buttercream and horseshoe décor. Also new, the signature Artist’s Palette Cookie is a mouthwatering sugar cookie with icing ‘paint’ and strawberry biscuit stick ‘paintbrush.’ It’s adorable and delicious.
Some of the favorite plant-based dishes at Walt Disney World Resort are desserts! Today, we’re sharing the recipe for the Plant-based Peanut and Banana Torte from California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
This decadent dessert features a shortbread crust made with gluten-free flour, peanut butter filling, and a delicious white chocolate glaze. The torte is served with blackberry-banana sauce, miso caramel, peanut crumble, and caramelized bananas. You can enjoy this as a dessert the day you make it and as breakfast the next morning with a cup of coffee.
If you’re interested in more plant-based delights like this one from Walt Disney World Resort, check out the new plant-based guide to uncover all of the bites and sips available to try on your next visit!
Even though this dish has quite a few components, it’s easy to make – don’t worry. Just give yourself plenty of time to let the different layers harden. To save some time, make the miso caramel, peanut crumble, and blackberry-banana sauce while the peanut butter filling is chilling.

The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are returning Nov. 10, 2023, through Jan. 7, 2024! We can’t wait for you and your loved ones to create special memories and treasured traditions with new and returning holiday offerings around the resort. Ring in the season with some favorite festivities, like tasting your way through the Disney Festival of Holidays marketplaces, watching dazzling projections and fireworks illuminate Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle and snapping a photo with Mickey Mouse in his all-new holiday outfit in Disneyland park!
Here are the details about the celebrations, décor, entertainment and more that will be featured this holiday season.
Experience Cultural Celebrations in Disney California Adventure Park with Disney Festival of Holidays
A distinctly Disney holiday celebration with diverse food, live entertainment and more, Disney Festival of Holidays draws inspiration from multicultural seasonal celebrations and cherished traditions of Christmas, Navidad, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Three Kings Day. You can enjoy some new and returning favorite food and beverage items at the Disney Festival of Holidays marketplaces and groove to music and dance performances at the Palisades Stage, Sonoma Terrace and for the first time, in the Hollywood Backlot, where Disney Festival of Holidays will also be celebrated. Also, get ready to dance along as Disney and Pixar characters march to the beat of the Holiday Toy Drummers in “Mickey’s Happy Holidays.”
Festivalgoers may choose to purchase a Sip and Savor Pass, which offers eight entitlement tabs that can be redeemed for select food and nonalcoholic beverages from several marketplaces and participating dining locations in Disney California Adventure.* Each Sip and Savor Pass is valid for the entirety of Disney Festival of Holidays and can be shared among friends and family, so the whole group can sample delicious dishes together this season.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad! will return to Paradise Gardens Park for its tenth season, and this year, you can taste your way through an all-new menu at Paradise Garden Grill. Watch the Three Caballeros as they host a joyous street party, featuring Mexican folklórico dancers and mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists, giant mojiganga puppets and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their holiday best. Additional festivities in this area will include live music and dancing, visits with beloved Disney characters and special appearances by Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto.”
Enjoy Festive Décor and Transformed Attractions Throughout Disneyland Resort
There’s no better place to enjoy wintertime decorations and twinkling lights than The Merriest Place on Earth! Throughout Disneyland Resort, you can gaze at spectacular holiday décor including Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, adorned with icicles and snow-capped turrets; a gingerbread house inspired by sweet treats and pastries at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa; and Christmas trees with uniquely themed ornaments in both theme parks, the Downtown Disney District, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel. And with a bit of Disney magic, “snow” is scheduled to fall every night in select areas of Disneyland park!
Ornaments, lights and more will also embellish favorite attractions that get a special holiday overlay. In Disneyland, you’ll be serenaded with choruses of jolly tunes on the wintry waterway of “it’s a small world” Holiday, and Jack Skellington from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” redecorates the Haunted Mansion, transforming it into the frightfully festive Haunted Mansion Holiday, complete with a new, hauntingly delightful gingerbread house. Gear up for some cheer in Disney California Adventure on Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree, which will both undergo seasonal spins for the “haul-idays.”
Delight in Seasonal Spectaculars and Holiday Entertainment
A photo with Disney characters becomes even more merry, as Mickey Mouse and some of his friends will be wearing all-new outfits in Disneyland park, putting a spin on the classic red and green with midcentury modern-inspired looks! Plus, the whole family can visit with Santa Claus, who will pose for jolly photos around Disneyland Resort through Dec. 24.
And of course, the holiday season isn’t complete without enjoying some merry entertainment. At Disneyland park, “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” will spread cheer, starring characters from Disney Animation’s “Frozen,” Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story” and many more. In the evenings, you can watch as the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” nighttime spectacular illuminates the night sky with breathtaking fireworks and sprinklings of snow. And for guests who want to add even more holiday magic to their trip, the Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour will offer a hosted experience of select seasonal offerings and reserved viewing for “A Christmas Fantasy Parade.”**
At Disney California Adventure park, “World of Color – Season of Light” will fill Paradise Bay with the spirit of togetherness and love as hundreds of fountains illustrate warm moments from Disney animated films.
In addition to holiday shopping and dining in the Downtown Disney District, you can groove to a variety of “mistle-toe-tapping” live musical performances on select evenings at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage. At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel, you can enjoy a wonderfully cozy atmosphere, enhanced with live entertainment some nights.
We are counting down the days until Holidays at the Disneyland Resort begins! What are you most looking forward to this season?
