One of the best parts about the spring at Walt Disney World Resort is the incredible delights their culinary teams whip up, especially for holidays like Easter. This year is no different because, once again, select Disney Resort Hotels will be transformed with dazzling Easter egg displays and delicious treats alike.
And the fun doesn’t stop there; there are also plenty of tasty treats on the way that will leave you and your taste buds hoppy – I mean happy! You’re in luck because I’ve got a first look at some of the bites coming to the Grand Cottage at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on March 3. But be sure to keep an eye out on the Disney Parks Blog and Disney Eats for our full Foodie Guide with even more Easter goodies coming soon.
Let’s kick things off with a trip over to the Seven Seas Lagoon, where the pastry team at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been hard at work creating Easter egg displays for you. This can’t-miss tradition is a staple of the Easter season at the resort and showcases the artistry and talent of these cast members. Each has a unique theme and story that the culinary cast member brings to life with their own creative touch. Disney put together some favorite eggs from years past so you can get an idea of what you can experience this year! But there are plenty of new ones coming inspired by cherished characters, stories, and treats, like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Disney Animation’s “Beauty and the Beast,” and Disney snacks. With so many new creations, it’s worth a revisit if you’ve seen them before.
But that’s not all for the resort. The team has also been whipping up some delicious items for you to indulge in this spring. The Grand Cottage is back for the third year to bring to you a plethora of festive (and adorable) treats you won’t want to miss from March 3 through April 1.
Bunny Pop Flower Pot: Chocolate flower pot filled with jelly beans and three chocolate bunny pops (New)
The Easter Treat Box: Dark chocolate filled bunny, carrot blondie pop, marshmallow pop, carrot cake chocolate bark, confetti pop, and meringue nests
Easter Marshmallow Pop: Three large marshmallows dipped in a yellow chocolate coating topped with Easter quins
Bunny Burrow Dirt Cup: Layers of chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream, and cookies ‘n cream pieces with springtime décor (Plant-based)
The Grand Egg: White chocolate egg filled with jelly beans sprayed in spring colors
The Bunny Burrow Dirt Cupand Fruity Cereal Pop will both also be available over at Gasparilla Island Grill from March 3 through April 1.
Also nestled over at Seven Seas Lagoon, Disney’s Contemporary Resort will once again be home to its fair share of mind-blowing egg displays. The team here has brought their creativity to the egg to create works of art that will leave you amazed (and craving some chocolate). Once you set your eyes on this year’s lineup, you won’t believe that these hand-painted displays are real. Here’s a glimpse of some of last year’s talented creations to give you an idea of what to expect when this year’s eggs are on full display starting March 3. Much like at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the displays here also will be filled with brand-new eggs inspired by characters from stories, like “Elemental” and “Hercules.”
Last, but certainly not least, we’re heading to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort where these waterside resorts are once again bringing in some truly egg-cellent displays to life this year. The pastry teams at the resort are joining in on the fun and have been working on creating their own detailed eggs for you to dazzle in this spring.
This year, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will take a journey on the water side with a brand-new Moana-inspired display. See some of the beloved characters and scenes from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film brought to life in egg form. You can catch this new creation starting March 3 in the lobby of the resort. Last year, the team crafted a “Finding Nemo”-inspired display that made quite the splash, as you can see!
Right next door at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a display inspired by none other than the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which can be found just around the corner from the resort. The team has meticulously crafted miniature versions of some of the iconic topiaries available at the festival, bringing a floral touch to the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club Resort. You can get a peek at what’s coming here as this creation premiered last year and is coming back again starting March 3, so be sure to drop by the resort to see them for yourself.
As you can see, there is plenty to see (and taste) this spring at Walt Disney World Resort. The adventures are truly endless at Disney Parks! We can’t wait to see what the culinary teams have created this year when the displays premiere on March 3.
This March, Women’s History Month at Walt Disney World Resort will be bursting with flavors inspired by some of your favorite women characters, like Tiana, Moana, and Minnie Mouse herself, as well as plenty of delights developed by female food and beverage cast members.
March marks the start of Women’s History Month and we’re Celebrating Her Story with a lineup of delicious items all across Walt Disney World Resort! Our talented teams of chefs and mixologists have put their passions to the plate and masterfully created some truly spectacular items for you to enjoy as you honor the women in your life.
From brand-new bites, like the Feathered Friends Mousse Dome inspired by Kevin from the Disney Pixar film “Up” and Beef Bourguignon created by Sous Chef Lauren, to existing items like the Belle Cup of Enchantment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll be filled and feeling appreciative of these inspiring individuals and characters.

What a line up on the way. There’s clearly so much to see and taste at the festival this year!
Today, we have an exciting update many of you have been waiting for: 1900 Park Fare is reopening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on April 10. This iconic restaurant will feature returning guest favorites along with a newly refurbished dining room and other special touches.
Here are five things to look forward to when you return:
1. Wish Upon a Star with Favorite Disney Characters
Because meals are best enjoyed alongside friends, a few familiar faces will stop by throughout breakfast and dinner — some for the first time at this location! In this refreshed character dining experience, you’ll be joined by Aladdin in his Prince Ali look, Cinderella, Mirabel and Tiana in her new look for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as they celebrate the power of a wish.
2. Enjoy a Feast Fit for Royalty
An enchanting buffet will be served for breakfast and dinner, featuring some returning guest favorites — yes, that includes the strawberry soup! — along with new menu offerings dreamed up by our talented chefs to pay tribute to some of the characters and stories you’ll encounter throughout the restaurant.
3. Look for Nods to the Restaurant’s Heritage
Fans of 1900 Park Fare will remember Big Bertha, an antique organ that has called the resort home since 1988. Look for her in the main dining room, where she’s on display as its grand centerpiece!
Just like before, carousel theming is woven throughout the restaurant — starting with the impressive new mural shown above, which will serve as the focal point of the restaurant’s entrance. In one of the adjoining dining rooms, you’ll find drawings of carousel animals inspired by classic Disney films like “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Little Mermaid.” Keep an eye out for other hidden carousel details when you visit!
4. Delight in Exclusive New Artwork
The artistic touches continue throughout the main dining room, where you’ll also find twelve new portraits created exclusively for the restaurant by Disney artists. Each one, inspired by the impressionist art style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, features a different Disney character as they hope, dream and wish upon a star (or even a magic lamp or a wishing well).
5. Celebrate Traditions and Create New Ones
Over the years, 1900 Park Fare has been the backdrop of so many of our guests’ favorite vacation memories — mine included! At the heart of this unique restaurant is the magic and whimsy of turn-of-the-century gardens and fairgrounds, where people of all ages came together to enjoy each other’s company. The spirit of those carefree days spent outdoors is brought to life with each detail big and small, making it the perfect place to create new memories with loved ones.
Mark your calendars, because reservations for 1900 Park Fare open on March 5 at DisneyWorld.com. Pro tip: The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to plan meals around your family’s schedule, and it includes character dining options! Breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fare will each count as one (1) Table-Service Meal on the Disney Dining Plan.

To save time on Valentine’s Day, the mushroom and artichoke topping for this bruschetta can be made up to two days in advance and reheated before serving. RUSTIC BRUSCHETTA from Wine Country Trattoria, Disney California Adventure Park Serves 6 to 8, as an appetizer
INGREDIENTS
1 large onion, sliced
7 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt, divided
1/2 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms
1/2 cup sliced crimini mushrooms
1/2 cup sliced artichoke hearts
1/4 cup sliced sun-dried tomatoes
1 medium French baguette
1 cup mascarpone cheese
3 cloves minced garlic
1/2 shallot, minced
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Shaved Parmesan cheese, for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Combine onion and 2 tablespoons olive oil in large sauté pan over medium heat. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cook until onions are soft and caramelized, about 20 minutes. Set aside.

Cut baguette into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Place slices on a large baking sheet, and drizzle with remaining 2 tablespoons oil. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until crisp but not browned. Set aside.
Whisk together mascarpone cheese, garlic, shallots, remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl.
Spread toasted baguette slices with the mascarpone mixture, then top with mushroom mixture. Garnish with shaved Parmesan cheese.

1 1/2 pounds fingerling potatoes
1 clove elephant garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
Coarse salt, freshly ground black pepper, to taste
BABY CARROTS
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups baby carrots
Coarse salt, freshly ground black pepper, to taste
BEEF
4 (5-ounce) beef tenderloin filets
Coarse salt, freshly ground black pepper, to taste
SHRIMP
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/4 cup lemon juice
1 stick unsalted butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
5 piquanté peppers, stems and seeds removed
Coarse salt, freshly ground black pepper, to taste
DEMI-GLACE
1/2 cup beef demi-glace
2 tablespoons blood orange juice
FOR SMASHED FINGERLING POTATOES:
Preheat oven to 300°F. Combine potatoes, garlic, and oil in a large roasting pan. Bake for 40 minutes, turning once, until potatoes are tender.
Place potatoes and garlic in a bowl and smash with a potato masher or fork. Add salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm until ready to serve.
FOR BABY CARROTS:
Heat oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat until hot. Add garlic and cook for one minute, until fragrant. Add carrots and reduce heat to medium-low.
Cook carrots, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes or until tender.
Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm until ready to serve.
FOR BEEF:
Heat a grill pan or heavy nonstick skillet over medium-high heat about 5 minutes, until very hot. Season beef generously with salt and pepper.
Sear filets for about 4 minutes on each side, turning once, which will cook the filet to medium rare. If meat browns too quickly before interior is done, reduce heat to medium-low. To test doneness, check steak temperature with a meat thermometer.
Let beef rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
FOR SHRIMP:
Heat olive oil in a medium sauté pan over medium heat until hot. Add shrimp and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Remove shrimp from pan. Add wine and lemon juice and cook, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes, until liquid is reduced by half.
Reduce heat to low and stir in butter. Add shrimp back to pan, stirring to heat through.
Remove from heat and add chives, piquanté peppers and salt and pepper, to taste. Keep warm until ready to serve.
FOR DEMI-GLACE:
Heat demi-glace in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm. Stir in blood orange juice.
Keep warm until ready to serve.
TO SERVE:
Place 1/4 of the smashed fingerling potatoes in the center of each plate in a thin layer. Top potatoes with beef and drizzle 2 tablespoons of demi-glace over each steak.
Top with 1/4 of the shrimp and sauce. Place carrots on one side of each plate.
Chocolate Truffle Cake from Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
Now for the dessert. The decadent Chocolate Truffle Cake from a past Napa Rose menu at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa can still be enjoyed at home with this recipe. Whipping warm egg whites can be tricky, so make sure your small metal bowl is clean and dry before adding egg whites.
CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE CAKE from Napa Rose, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa Serves 8
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup plus 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (extra for ramekins)
6 1/2 ounces high quality 58% bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
5 large eggs, room temperature, separated
1/2 cups sugar, divided (extra for ramekins)
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375˚F. Lightly butter bottom and sides of 8 individual (3/4 cup) ramekins. Coat thinly with sugar and shake out excess. Set aside.
Prepare a double boiler and bring water to a simmer over low heat. Place butter and chocolate in top of double boiler and gently stir until melted smoothly and combined.
Whisk egg yolks and 1/4 cup sugar in a large mixing bowl for 3 to 4 minutes or until smooth and slightly thickened. Add flour and combine.
Ladle a small amount of melted chocolate into egg yolk mixture and whisk to combine. Add another ladle of chocolate into egg yolk mixture and continue to whisk. Once the temperature of the egg yolk mixture has been warmed, add remaining chocolate to egg yolks and whisk vigorously until completely combined. Set aside.
Warm egg whites in a small metal bowl (make sure it is very clean and dry) that just fits into a small saucepan with hot water in it. Allow egg whites to warm for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from water and add 1 tablespoon sugar, whip mixture using a hand-held mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
Slowly add an additional 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar while continuing to whip egg whites. Increase speed to high and slowly add remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar. Whip egg whites and sugar for another 3 to 4 minutes or until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold in 1/4 of chocolate mixture into egg whites to combine. Add remaining chocolate and continue to fold till completely combined, being careful not to overwork mixture.
Divide batter equally among the prepared ramekins, filling 3/4 full. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 14 minutes, or until tops are puffy, but center is still soft. Do not overbake.
Cut around edges of cakes using a small knife to loosen cakes. Carefully invert cakes onto serving plates.
Place a heart-shaped stencil over each cake and sift powdered sugar on top before serving.

Whisk in flour and stir constantly over low heat until the flour is cooked and the mixture has thickened slightly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add chicken stock and half of the bacon. Season with salt and pepper.

Wow, there’s so many delicious ways to celebrate not just for Black History Month, but throughout the entire year!
It’s an exciting time at the Disneyland Resort, and we’re here to give you the latest reveals on what’s next for Downtown Disney District! Through this innovative evolution, we are continually looking to bring you new experiences and even more ways to make memories with a dose of Disney magic.
First Look at Parkside Market!
Here’s a first look at renderings for the new Parkside Market, a curated collection of four diverse culinary concepts from Levy Restaurants, all under one roof, as part of the expansion of the district on the west end. Parkside Market will bring Seoul Sister, a fast-casual modern eatery that will serve a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap (Korean rice bowls); Sip & Sonder serving lattes, fresh treats, frozen drinks and Caribbean-inspired bites; GG’s Chicken Shop with chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides; and a second story bar with great views of the district to sip signature craft cocktails and mocktails paired with tantalizing appetizers.
Earl of Sandwich News!
Earl of Sandwich fans, great news! Plans are in the works for an all-new, two-story location in Downtown Disney District, with a quick-service Earl of Sandwich shop on the ground level and a table-service gastropub upstairs. We can’t wait to share more details about this project in the future.
In the meantime, keep an eye out for a temporary Earl of Sandwich pop-up opening soon near Star Wars Trading Post. Here, you will be able to pick up sandwiches such as The Original 1762, The Full Montagu or my personal must-have, the Holiday Turkey, as well as hand-crafted wraps, salads and sweets.
Earl of Sandwich will be relocated from its temporary location on the east end of the district near the Esplanade to make way for the design and construction of an all-new Porto’s Bakery.
Sneak Peek at Paseo and Céntrico, and Announcing Tiendita!
Next, let’s take a sneak peek at what’s coming to the center of the district later this spring – the new Paseo and Céntrico – and announcing, Tiendita! With menus created by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán, the Paseo upstairs dining room and the first floor Céntrico courtyard bar and restaurant will offer upscale Mexican cuisine and tequila-based cocktails, while next door, Tiendita will offer Chef Gaytán’s Mexican heritage flavors on-the-go, with quick-service Mexican street-food staples.
We’ve been talking about what’s to come, and of course, there is so much to enjoy now! A favorite new spots to relax and listen to music is at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage and lawn. You can dance and sing along to various genres of music including Motown, rock, jazz, pop and reggae. Be sure to check the entertainment schedule for seasonal and specialty performances throughout the year.
Whether it’s distinctive dining, shopping or entertainment, Downtown Disney District is a destination all its own to have a great time with your family and friends. Currently, there are dozens of restaurants, snack stops, boutiques and entertainment venues for you to visit including Splitsville Luxury Lanes, Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, Ballast Point Brewing Co., Naples Ristorante e Bar, Wetzel’s Pretzel, PANDORA Jewelry, Lovepop, California Sole and World of Disney!
