Disneyland Resort Announces Return of Halloween Time and Plaza de la Familia Sept. 1, Plus 2023 Oogie Boogie Bash Dates

Special Events By May 31, 2023 No Comments

Fall is one of our favorite times of the year at Disneyland Resort. The leaves change color, the Halloween spirit creeps in and beloved seasonal celebrations make their return! Beginning Sept. 1, 2023, you’ll discover family-friendly fall fun and fare across the Happiest Place on Earth.

During the Halfway to Halloween celebration last month, we shared that the fan-favorite Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will return this year, and during Halloween Time, Mickey Mouse and some of his pals will debut ghostly new outfits at Disneyland park.

Today, we’ll be treating you to even more sweet details for this year’s fall festivities for all ages, including limited-time offerings, beautiful décor all around the resort and dates for Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party.

Halloween Time across the Disneyland Resort

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

Halloween Time materializes across the Disneyland Resort from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, 2023. If you’re a big Halloween fan, that means you can get an early start on the festivities!

Spirited seasonal décor and characters dressed in Halloween looks will appear in both theme parks, presenting countless photo opportunities – including the Main Street Pumpkin Festival at Disneyland park and the transformation of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park into Radiator Screams, where the local residents and establishments are decked out in their Haul-O-Ween best.

At Disneyland park, Jack Skellington and his friends from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” will once again wreck the halls of Haunted Mansion Holiday. Another deliciously diabolical gingerbread house, created by the Disneyland Resort culinary team, will be displayed in the transformed attraction’s ballroom. Sandy Claws has kept this year’s design under wraps, but I promise I won’t tell if you take a little peek.

Each night through Oct. 31, the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular will summon supernatural projections, special effects and music on Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rivers of America and in front of “it’s a small world.” MagicBand+ adds another devious dimension to the show with ominous illuminations and shivering vibrations. On select nights, fireworks will be conjured up in the skies above. To make way for “Halloween Screams,” the nighttime spectacular “Wondrous Journeys” is scheduled to make its last performance of the year on Aug. 31.

At Disney California Adventure park, three attractions will undergo seasonal transformations with Halloween spins – and drops. The family-friendly Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Cars Land and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters opt for happily hair-raising soundtracks to become Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. For the first time, resident “car-acter” Guido will sport a ghoulish “car-stume” as he welcomes guests to the Casa Della Tires.

As the afternoon winds down each day, the thrills go up at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in Avengers Campus. The attraction transforms into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, a scream-worthy adventure to save Groot from creatures running amok in The Collector’s Fortress.

From Sept. 8 through Nov. 1, Disney character-themed pumpkins will be hidden around the Downtown Disney District for Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit; with the purchase of a map from participating locations, you can commemorate your search with a collectible keepsake.* Downtown Disney District will also feature fall décor, entertainment and special offerings from select locations.

Treat yourself! This year’s array of Halloween merchandise will include apparel, home décor and collectibles with in-trend designs. Dining locations across the Disneyland Resort will serve up dozens of new and returning bites and beverages featuring fall flavors, like pumpkin fritters and a Halloween cake. Disney Eats will reveal all the fall fare closer to the season.

Plaza de la Familia and Tributes to Día de los Muertos

Honoring the Mexican traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the vibrant Plaza de la Familia cultural experience will bring brilliant marigolds, heartwarming entertainment and family crafts to Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure park from Sept. 1 to Nov. 2. At Paradise Garden Grill, you’ll be able to feast on menu items inspired by Mexican cuisine.

Throughout the experience, characters and music from Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award-winning “Coco” highlight eternal love and the everlasting bonds of family. Several times per day, “A Musical Celebration of Coco” will present a talented company of Folklórico dancers, plus Mariachi singers and musicians, that recount Miguel’s adventure to the Land of the Dead. You can also meet Miguel, dance along to Mariachi music, add remembrance notes to the Memory Wall, and more.

Over in Cars Land, Ramone will honor Día de los Muertos at his detailing shop with an “ofrenda” celebrating the town’s good friend, Doc Hudson.

Disneyland park will pay tribute to Día de los Muertos with its traditional, vibrant display in Frontierland, adorned with marigolds and banners of papel picado.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party** will take over Disney California Adventure park for more nights than ever before, bringing rare characters, villains and spellbinding experiences on 25 select evenings between Sept. 5 and Oct. 31, 2023. Kids and trick-or-treaters of all ages are invited to wear their Halloween costumes for a wickedly fun evening of attractions (some of which have shorter wait times!), themed food and beverages, and more. Admission to the after-hours event also includes entrance to Disney California Adventure park three hours before the party begins and unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the party.

With treat trails and characters throughout the park, you may encounter new and familiar friends! Partygoers of all ages can also delight in special offerings just for Oogie Boogie Bash, such as “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” show, the “Frightfully Fun Parade” led by the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, and the immersive Villains Grove.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on June 29 (no earlier than 9 a.m. PT). New Summer Best Bites at Walt Disney World

Foodie Guide By May 24, 2023 No Comments

Hello there, fellow foodies! With summer in full swing, the culinary teams at Disney Parks are adding some new delights for you to indulge in. Trust us when we say the chefs at Walt Disney World Resort have been hard at work bringing you the freshest and most exciting flavors of summer.

You may have recently seen the seasonal summer menu over at The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or some of the new novelties, like the Perfect Picnic Basket Popcorn Bucket, that have recently come to Walt Disney World Resort. But that’s not the only thrilling foodie fun to be had.

There are plenty of new eats, sips, and novelties that are joining the endless can’t-miss treats. And we’re here to share them all with you. Let’s see some of the “best bites” to be had this summer at Walt Disney World Resort!

The Fried Cauliflower appetizer and the Canadian Tourtière

If you’ve been to Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT recently, you may have noticed some new additions. This location has added several dishes to its menu over the past month. The new appetizers include the Green Onion & Garlic Canadian Cove Mussels featuring P.E.I Mussels with ramp pistou cream, and broiled ciabatta. The Mushroom Bisque combines morel mushrooms, potatoes, and crème fraiche into a warm bowl of deliciousness. Lastly, the Jumbo Chilled Shrimp is paired with a tasty cocktail sauce and Espelette pepper cream.

For those interested in plant-based options, there are two dishes for you to try. The Fried Cauliflower appetizer is masterfully combined with Tahini espuma, pine nut brittle, and radishes. For a heartier option, the Canadian Tourtière is a chickpea and mushroom pie with braised endive, snap peas, stone fruit ketchup, and a plant-based demi-glace. I don’t know about you, but both of these eats sound delicious to me.

Prime Steak Tartare “Kibbeh Nayeh”

But wait, there’s more! Two new entrées have made their way to Le Cellier – the Prime Steak Tartare “Kibbeh Nayeh” with Bulgar wheat, radish, mint, and a garlic aïoli, and the Grilled Scallops with caviar, zucchini fritter, patty pan squash, sweety drop pepper, and a creamy piquillo sauce – wow! As you can see, this updated menu has a little something for everyone to enjoy.

Korean-style IMPOSSIBLE Burger and Seas the Plant-based Summer

The Disney Resort Hotels are joining in on the summer season celebrations with some new additions to be tasted. At the food courts in Disney’s All-Star ResortsDisney’s Art of Animation ResortDisney’s Caribbean Beach ResortDisney’s Port Orleans Resort – French QuarterDisney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort, you’ll be able to sink your teeth into the Korean-style IMPOSSIBLE Burger. This delicious new item features an IMPOSSIBLE patty made from plants topped with a Korean-style barbecue sauce and pickled vegetable slaw. These locations will also be featuring a sweet treat – the Seas the Plant-based Summer, a plant-based chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and sprinkles, starting on June 1.

Cuban Burger and Bases Loaded Burger

But that isn’t the only new burger joining the foodie scene at the resorts. Over at Everything POP Shopping & Dining in Disney’s Pop Century Resort, the Cuban Burger is made up of ham, pickled pepper relish, provolone, and dijonnaise on a toasted brioche bun – yum! The End Zone Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is also serving up a new burger starting June 21 – the Bases Loaded Burger. This dish brings together bacon jam, an onion ring, and beer-cheese sauce on a toasted brioche bun to form a mouthwatering bite.

Also at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, and at both Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort in the food courts, the Sweet Summertime Favorites will be joining the offerings starting on June 1. Designed to replicate a summertime classic, a hot dog and french fries, this new plate with chocolate sugar cookies, and raspberry dipping sauce. Does it get more adorable than this? I don’t think so.

If you’re looking for a little sweetness, head on over to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, where starting tomorrow, May 24, the Centertown Market will be offering two new sundaes themed after some of your favorite Disney friends. The Mickey Sundae is made up of vanilla-chocolate swirl soft-serve topped with mini brownies, Mickey ears, and chocolate décor. The vanilla soft-serve Minnie Sundae includes strawberry sauce, Minnie ears, a bow, and chocolate décor.

For those venturing over to Disney’s BoardWalk, you’ll be able to sink your teeth into the Strawberry Shortcake Croissant Roll at the BoardWalk Deli. This delicious new bite featuring croissant dough with strawberry filling will be available on the weekends only starting, May 29.

Do you love shortcake? Well, the Summer Berry Shortcake will make a fan out of you with a moist vanilla sponge cake, blueberry compote, strawberries, and Chantilly. This new, sweet slice will be launching on June 1 at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

For those over 21 and looking for an adult beverage, there are a couple options for you, too! Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is bringing seasonal flavors to your glass – or should I say glasses – because they’ve got a new summer Margarita Flight featuring black cherry, spicy pineapple, raspberry, and cucumber melon margaritas starting on June 1!

Nestled at the top of Coronado Springs Resort, you’ll find Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood, which will be home to the Smoked Passion Fruit made with Agustín Blázquez Felipe II Solera Reserva Brandy, demerara syrup, passion fruit, smoked cinnamon, and a house-made frozen orange juice cube.

New menu from Rosa Mexicano

Next, we’re taking a trip over to the Walt Disney World Dolphin, where the new Rosa Mexicano recently opened its doors, satisfying its hungry patrons with delicious, Mexican cuisine. This fine-dining restaurant features a menu filled with flavors and dishes from all across Mexico, as well as award-winning margaritas! The food combines the traditional with modern techniques in a captivating environment that will transport you with each bite!

Pineapple Crisp Sundae

It’s time to get wild with flavor because next up we’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Over at Tamu Tamu, a new sundae is on the scene and may just become your new favorite. The Pineapple Crisp Sundae deliciously combines a pineapple crisp cake with vanilla ice cream and is topped with pineapple caramel and crispy streusel topping. My mouth is watering just thinking about this one.

Recently, there have been several new eats joining the foodie adventures. Guess what’s coming back to Restaurantosaurus on June 1? The Fried Chicken Sandwich! This bite tops a warm brioche bun with crispy fried chicken breast, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and a roasted garlic aïoli. Did I mention it comes with fries?

And that’s not the only thing to return. Last month, Flame Tree Barbecue welcomed back a fan-favorite – the Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler! What could be better than not just one, but three of your favorites to chow down on?

Dino Dig Ice Cream Sandwich

What’s sweeter than ice cream? Ice cream sandwiched in between cookies! The recently added Dino Dig Ice Cream Sandwich is the perfect treat to keep you satisfied, sweet, and cool, with vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two house-made sugar cookies with chocolate sprinkles, cookie crumbs, sugar bones, and an adorable white chocolate dinosaur. Just look at how cute it is!

There you have it, some of the delicious eats and sips available this summer at Walt Disney World Resort. Are you ready to try them all?

Seasonal Menu Debuts at The Hollywood Brown Derby

Restaurant Reviews By May 19, 2023 No Comments

The Golden Age of Hollywood has gotten some additions because The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently launched its seasonal menu. The culinary team has masterfully put together dishes featuring the freshest of ingredients for the summer and created a menu that will leave you and your taste buds wanting more.

This fan-favorite location nestled within Hollywood Boulevard is quite the popular spot and for good reason. The contemporary American cuisine speaks for itself, and this summer menu is no different. With several delicious additions from the kitchen, you’ll want to come back again and again to try them all.

Whether you’ve been here before or want to try this restaurant for the first time, The Hollywood Brown Derby has something for everyone to enjoy.

We think it’s time we break down these tasty new and returning bites and see what’s cooking over at The Hollywood Brown Derby this summer!

The appetizers have several eats that are packed with flavor. Starting off, we’ve got some seafood options resurfacing for you. The Crab Louie features crispy olive bread, citrus blend, fried capers, and Louie sauce. For those shrimp fans out there, the Shrimp Cocktail is topped with shaved fennel cucumbers and a traditional cocktail sauce.

If you’re a cheese lover like me, then there are two items that will spark your interest. The Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad combines shaved onions, Thai basil, gremolata, and a delicious citrus vinaigrette into a can’t-miss dish, while the Charcuterie Board features the Chef’s selection of cured meats, cheeses, and accompaniments.

For the more adventurous eaters, the Escargot is accompanied by roasted garlic béchamel and crispy prosciutto and the Roasted Bone Marrow is composed of braised beef, pickled mustard seeds, and a fig bread crostini. How delicious do these all sound? And we haven’t even gotten to the main course yet!

The entrée menu is packed with flavorful delights with a variety of options for everyone to enjoy. Let’s start with some new ones for the land lovers out there. The classic Filet Mignon is paired with glazed carrots, potato pave, horseradish cream, and a tasty peppercorn sauce to finish it off. The Lamb Shank is accompanied with summer vegetables, harissa vinaigrette, and nasturtium chermoula.

Free-Range Chicken and Dumplings at The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Do you love chicken? What about dumplings? How about them together? If that sounds good. then the new Free-Range Chicken and Dumplings is the dish for you. It brings together these two classics with a lemon-ricotta Gnudi, shishito cream, and a gooseberry jus. If you like pork, the recently added Grilled Pork is right up your alley with a mouthwatering lavender-sage polenta and local corn salsa, complete with a huckleberry barbecue sauce. Now that’s a dish!

The seafood aficionados have a couple options to choose from as well – the new Sustainable Fish and the Seafood Cioppino. The Sustainable Fish with white bean ragout, derby summer vegetables, and roasted tomato emulsion is a lovely addition to the menu while the Seafood Cioppino brings together favorites from the sea with shrimp, sea scallops, seasonal fish, mussels, a toasted baguette, and aromatic tomato broth – yum!

Shepherd’s Pie at The Hollywood Brown Derby

Last, but certainly not least for the new items, we have The Hollywood Brown Derby’s latest rendition of a classic comfort food dish – Shepherd’s Pie. This option combines roasted garlic mashed potatoes, mushrooms, peas, corn, and carrot Romesco into a plate that will warm your soul and ignite your taste buds. Did I mention this one is plant-based?

For those repeat diners, don’t you worry, because some fan-favorites are still here to stay for both lunch and dinner. The Famous Cobb Saladis a classic, and for good reason. This famous dish is made up of spit-roasted turkey, bacon, egg, tomatoes, blue cheese, avocado, and a classic dressing. If you want to enhance this dish even more, you can add chicken or shrimp.

The sweet tooths out there will be pleased to know that the sweet staple, the Grapefruit Cake, isn’t going anywhere. This Brown Derby original combines a moist vanilla sponge cake, grapefruit syrup, and cream cheese icing into a dessert that’s as delicious as it is beautiful.

We don’t know about you, but our mouth is watering just thinking about all these new items. We can’t wait to drop on into The Hollywood Brown Derby this summer to try our fair share of these eats.

New Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya Opening at EPCOT This Summer

Restaurant Reviews By May 9, 2023 No Comments

Foodies know that one of the best places to explore a variety of global cuisines is at EPCOT, which will soon be home to a new location at the Japan pavilion – Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. This table-service restaurant will offer a festive dining experience in a sharable Izakaya-style for you to create memories and good times through flavors.

Here, you’ll be able to experience the essence of Japan’s seasonal festivals, where each month brings a new celebration to your table. From hanging tanzaku to celebrate Tanabata in July to savoring moon-viewing dumplings in September, a cultural representative from Japan will guide you through each unique festival experience, one bite at a time. The atmosphere also embraces the festivals of Japan, with the atmosphere featuring beautiful, hand painted artwork and lanterns highlighting some of the natural wonders that Japan offers as well. Each and every visit is designed to create unforgettable memories that capture the spirit of Japan’s vibrant seasonal festivities.

In addition to a full menu filled with mouthwatering Japanese delights like sushi and teppan items, there will be an open sushi bar and grill. Located on the second floor of the Japan pavilion, Shiki-Sai offers stunning views of EPCOT, the World Showcase Lagoon, and, of course, fireworks!

Sushi lovers will marvel at the first-hand look at sushi being made right before their eyes by the chefs when sitting at the sushi bar. This unique spot provides a can’t-miss dining experience along with a magnificent trellis inspired by the roof of the Phoenix Hall in Kyoto that will mesmerize your eyes while the food captivates your taste buds.

Speaking of taste buds, let’s take a look at some of the dishes that will be served up at Shiki-Sai.

Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya at EPCOT - food

If you fancy yourself a sushi aficionado or you’re looking to expand your palate to a new bite, this menu has no shortage of delicious bites for you to try. Some highlights from the sushi bar include the Kobore SushiTokyo Negi Roll, Funamori, and The Monster Roll.

Kobore Sushi translates to “overflowing sushi” and this item is “overflowing” with flavors. It features negi toro and nakaochi tuna elegantly paired with salmon roe and green onion. The Tokyo Negi Roll combines green onion tempura rolled with tuna tataki and topped with jalapeno aïoli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapeno for a delightful roll that you simply need to try.

The Funamori features sashimi and sushi arranged on a boat-shaped platter. This iteration of Funamori is even served with the festive pomp and the boat procession of the famous Tenjin Matsuri!

You’ll also be able to sample dishes from the delicious world of Japanese Izakaya, a type of casual pub-style restaurant. One of the main highlights of Izakaya culture is the emphasis on sharing plates of food while enjoying drinks and conversation with friends. The menu at an Izakaya typically features a wide range of small dishes, and here is no different. From savory Karaage Chicken to succulent Salmon Misoyaki, even a refreshing Tomato Salad with Avocado, Izakaya cuisine is all about offering a variety of delicious small plates that can be indulged in a social and relaxed atmosphere.

Not only can you get dishes from the sushi bar, but the grill will also be serving up delicious options commonly found in Japanese cuisine. Among the grilled items to enjoy, Okonomiyaki is a highlight. This Japanese savory pancake is made with a batter of flour, eggs, and water, and then filled with shredded cabbage and bacon, and topped with tangy okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger.

Welcome to EPCOT, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. I hope you’re as excited as I am for this new location to open its doors this summer!

Foodie Guide By May 2, 2023 No Comments

This May, we’re thrilled to be shining a light on Asian American Pacific Islander heritage month and “A World of Voices” celebrations! Throughout the month, the culinary teams will be showcasing some of the diverse cultures through their cuisines with both new and existing items that will delight you with each and every bite.

6 Ways to Celebrate Disney100 at Walt Disney World Resort

Special Events By April 27, 2023 No Comments

For 100 years, The Walt Disney Company has created unforgettable stories and lifelong memories for generations of families. Some of our favorite memories are tied to visits to Walt Disney World, seeing Disney stories brought to life and getting the chance to experience them in magical ways.

The entire Walt Disney World cast is excited to join in the celebration of Disney100, and you’re invited to be part of the fun! We’re thrilled to share that you can now experience magical, limited-time offerings sprinkled throughout the resort. Here are six great ways to commemorate this momentous milestone, with many more to come.

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse - Celebrate Disney100 at Walt Disney World Resort
Say Hi to Mickey and Minnie in Their Platinum Best

As previously shared, EPCOT will be the center of the Disney100 celebration later this year at Walt Disney World. Recently opened attractions like the exhilarating family thrill coaster Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the captivating 4D Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure bring even more family fun to the park where the impossible becomes possible. Even more is in store as the park’s multi-year transformation culminates later this year during the Disney100 celebration.

Have you been looking forward to seeing Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their new dazzling platinum outfits? I know I have! You’ll be able to hug and take photos with the duo in their platinum outfits at EPCOT later this year. What a way to celebrate this major milestone and the legacy that their beloved stories represent for our Company. We’ll have more details on when and where you can meet them soon.

Admire Special Spaceship Earth Lighting

I’m excited to announce that the night sky will light up with a dazzling spectacle of colors and lights as Spaceship Earth honors Disney100 with a special display later in 2023. Here’s your first look at what’s sure to be a memorable moment during the celebration.

Our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering have been dreaming up new ways to honor this important milestone by turning to their own cherished memories and favorite Disney stories as they create this one-of-a-kind display.

“The Show Lighting Team at Walt Disney Imagineering has been amazed at our guests’ reaction to the nightly shows on Spaceship Earth,” said Jason Read, show lighting designer principal for Walt Disney Imagineering. “We’ve helped celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World, EPCOT’s 40th and the park’s signature festivals. Now, we’re excited to have Spaceship Earth ring in the biggest celebration yet, the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company.”

“We’re also inspired by many things from the history of the company, its characters, theme parks and shows – even the Disney100 opening logo that plays before our feature films during this anniversary,” Read continued. “You may see homages to everything from the ‘Wonderful World of Disney’ television show opening to Mickey balloons that we sell on Main Street, U.S.A.”

Whenever I make my way to Walt Disney World, I get a rush of adrenaline thinking about the magic that awaits me. So, you can only imagine my excitement when I saw the Disney100 sign at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park right in front of the entrance. If you’re like me, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to snap a few photos as a way to remember your visit during this very special celebration. This photo op is perfect for the entire family and is a great way to start your day. If you’re not going to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, don’t worry. You’ll be able to snap photos with Disney100 backdrops at all four theme parks plus Disney Springs.

Keep an Eye Out for Surprise Character Visits at Disney Resort Hotels

If you’ve ever had the joy of staying in one of our enchanting Disney Resort hotels, you may have seen the magic of various Disney characters stopping by for an impromptu photo opportunity. As the Disney100 celebration ramps up at Walt Disney World, you may run into some of your favorite Disney characters in their platinum best as they pop up at various Disney Resort hotels. You never know when or where they’ll show up next!

Disney100 Petite Cake for a limited time at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs
Celebrate With New Food and Drinks

The celebration doesn’t stop with character greetings and fun photo ops; you’ll also be able to indulge in some Disney100 treats across the resort. Beginning May 1, guests can enjoy the Disney100 Petite Cake for a limited time at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs. This mouthwatering dessert has layers of vanilla chiffon, berry mousse and berry compote, all topped with a celebratory Disney100 Medallion macaron.

The Disney Culinary team has been dreaming up all kinds of delicious dishes to commemorate the milestone, and this is just the beginning. I was lucky enough to learn about the inspiration behind this yummy dessert from Chef Amanda.

“The culinary team has the wonderful opportunity to use food for storytelling,” Chef Amanda said. “We get to make special themed treats that bring guests into the story, letting them feel immersed in a tangible and very delicious way.”

“The inspiration of this cake pulls from the rich purple and platinum colors used for the Disney100 celebration,” Chef Amanda shared. “The drapery on the sides of the cake represents the traditional bunting that adorns Main Street, U.S.A. for special occasions. And of course, Mickey Mouse is proudly represented on the front of the cake because as we all know: ‘It all started with a mouse.’”
