Gingerbread Displays
Spotting all of the Disneyland Resort gingerbread displays is always one of my favorite holiday traditions, and this year’s magnificent masterpieces are certainly a must-see.
Baked, assembled, and decorated by a talented team of pastry chefs, these confectionery creations are carefully crafted and overflowing with festive cheer.
Lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
This year’s glorious gingerbread display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is truly grand. The house’s facade mimics the architectural design of the hotel, specifically giving a nod to the new Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast character dining experience new this year at Storytellers Cafe. You can even spot characters like Scrooge McDuck, and 25 Hidden Mickeys are nestled into the piece!
Using features of the American Craftsman style of design and the distinct color palette of brown and green earthy tones seen throughout the Grand Californian, the talented pastry team added elements like snow, bows, and wreaths to make the house truly feel like a holiday home. It took 520 pounds of gingerbread dough and 720 hours to produce this festive feat, which guests can now find in the hotel lobby.
Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Park
This year’s gingerbread house inside the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction is an homage to the Raven, one of the mansion’s ghostly inhabitants who guides guests on their journey, but takes a holiday of his own when the residents of Halloween Town come to visit.
Titled “A Murder Most Fowl,” the gingerbread house showcases 13 crows taking up residence in this haunting abode in his absence, and these feathered friends may be spotted moving from their perch, or watching you pass by with their glowing red eyes. A team of eight pastry chefs needed nearly 20 days and over 200 pounds of gingerbread to assemble this sweet spectacle, which stands at 13 feet tall.
This is a must-see and smell item for your holiday bucket list, especially because the mansion ballroom does indeed possess the scent of fresh gingerbread.
More Ways to Enjoy Gingerbread at Disneyland Resort
The gingerbread fun doesn’t stop there! Chip ‘n’ Dale can be found gleefully greeting guests in their festive gingerbread outfits for a limited time in Town Square in Disneyland Park. And as part of the seasonal celebrations, guests can spot some dancing gingerbread cookies in “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” as these cheerful characters make their way down Main Street, U.S.A.*.

It’s the season of love, and it’s time for you to fall in love with these new offerings at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts! This month, we’re talking about an incredible sangria class at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, gluten-friendly churros, out-of-this-world snacks, a dining package for the all-new “Magic Happens” parade and more!
Starting at Disneyland Resort, travelers will find an array of new items at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. At Ronto Roasters and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, you can warm up with some Black Spire Hot Chocolate! And fans of the Green Milk from the Milk Stand will rejoice in a new concoction called Toydaria Swirl. This new drink features the plant-based Green Milk swirled with savory chili-lime seasoning and mango jelly. And if you’re looking for a crunchy snack, you can stop by any of the beverage carts throughout the Black Spire Outpost to grab a bag of Galma Garlic Puffed Cheese Chips featuring white cheddar and Parmesan cheese flavors.
For the novelty collectors out there, get ready to shift into hyperspace to grab this new souvenir vessel in Tomorrowland featuring Kylo Ren’s Tie-Fighter! This premium mug is offered at the Tomorrowland Fruit and Lemonade Carts, so you’ll want to fly on by and secure this novelty for their collection!
Over on the other side of Disneyland Park in the jungles of Adventureland, The Tropical Hideaway is serving up Dole Whip in new souvenir Tiki bowls. This fun novelty comes in four different designs and even includes a cool reusable spoon. Guests can fill their Tiki bowl up with their choice of raspberry, pineapple, or orange Dole Whip and can come back to collect all four designs! And while they’re there, they can try a few of the other snacks available at this jungle oasis like the sweet lumpia or savory bao buns.
In addition, the all-new “Magic Happens” parade is debuting Feb. 28 at Disneyland Park, which means that a new dining package is now available at Plaza Inn! With this new experience, you will be able to enjoy a delicious lunch at Plaza Inn before enjoying reserved viewing for “Magic Happens.” All packages include one lunch entrée, one beverage, one Plaza Inn credential, and one voucher that provides access to the parade’s reserved viewing area. For adults, the entrée will include slow-cooked short rib with chimichurri, chicken thigh fried to a golden brown, pesto-infused mashed potatoes, roasted seasonal vegetables, corn relish, and dessert. For kids, they’ll enjoy fried chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, corn relish, their choice of applesauce or baby carrots, and dessert as well as their choice of a small Dasani water or small lowfat milk. Vegetarian options are also available upon request. On the east coast at Walt Disney World Resort, if you’re looking for a cute date idea this Valentine’s season, stop by Sangria University at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. This unique experience will teach you how to make your very own personalized sangria alongside the resident Sangria Sommeliers at Three Bridges Bar & Grill. During the session, Guests will also learn about the history of the popular fruity wine cocktail and sample all four of the restaurant’s house-made sangrias before making their own! Sangria University occurs on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa Del Lago and is $45 per guest. Reservations can be made by calling 407-939-1004.
Of course, after you have finished learning all about how to make your own Sangria, you can always hang out at Three Bridges Bar & Grill afterwards for a relaxing afternoon of delicious appetizers and drinks. Popular dishes include the curry-lentil hummus with naan bread and crackers, warm manchego and Oaxaca cheese dip, and fried shrimp corn dogs. For something sweet, try a vanilla custard Mickey tart or even warm churros with chocolate sauce. And for gluten sensitivities, gluten-free churros are also on the menu!
Speaking of sweet snacks, be sure to stop by Magic Kingdom Park later this month to grab one of two new snacks! The first is a new molten chocolate chip cookie at Columbia Harbour House. The Minnie Mouse Chocolate Chip Lava Cake features a chocolate chip lava cookie served warm and topped with buttercream and a chocolate Minnie bow. The second treat, the Mermaid Slush, can be found at Prince Eric’s Village Market. This berry-flavored slush is topped with whipped cream and a chocolate mermaid tail – how cute! Both of these items will be available later this month.
Finally – if you’re craving pizza AND burgers, then there’s a new bite for you! Available through the end of February at Disney Springs, D-Luxe Burger is serving a brand-new PIZZA BURGER! This delicious burger comes with a signature-blend beef patty topped with artisan pepperoni, fried mozzarella, Pomodoro sauce, and lettuce.
