More delightful and delicious things are coming to Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort! Disney is committed to bringing fresh, new, innovative experiences to make every visit special. So, let’s take a look at the latest, including plans for the new Parkside Market, plus a new stage and lawn, and more!
Announcing Plans for Parkside Market!
We are thrilled to tell you about more innovative food and drink offerings coming to Downtown Disney in the future! Plans are underway for Parkside Market, a new, curated collection of diverse culinary concepts brought to life by Levy, with all four offerings under one roof as part of the expansion on the west end. Let’s whet your appetite with a bit more about what offerings are coming to this all-new location!
Seoul Sister is a fast-casual modern eatery that will serve a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) with a California twist. Executive Chef Kelly Kim will showcase bold Korean flavors through marinated meats, colorful vegetables and savory sauces over rice, noodles or salad, plus appetizers, an Asian-inspired breakfast menu, and hand-crafted drinks.
Sip & Sonder, from founders Amanda-Jane Thomas and Shanita Nicholas, is a Black women-owned brand that has been recognized as one of the best cafés in L.A. by the Los Angeles Times. Guests in the district can expect to enjoy Sip & Sonder’s signature lattes, as well as fresh treats, frozen drinks and Caribbean-inspired bites.
GG’s Chicken Shop, from Boka Restaurant Group, was founded by James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm, alongside Michelin Star Chef Partner Lee Wolen. Affectionately named after Wolen’s mother Geri, the shop will serve a family-friendly menu of chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides. The first brick-and-mortar GG’s Chicken Shop opened earlier this year in Chicago and this new location in Downtown Disney District will be its first on the West Coast.
A second story bar will be an al fresco spot offering great views to sip signature craft cocktails and mocktails from mixologists who infuse, muddle, stir, shake and swizzle the freshest mixes using local ingredients and artful garnishes. Refreshing selections will include frozen lemonades, frozés, espresso martinis, shareable cocktails and spirit-free elixirs.
Later this year, Downtown Disney will open a new stage and lawn for special events, activities, musical entertainment and more on the west end of the district. In this brand-new area, you’ll also be able to see a soaring new sculptural tower designed by Nikkolas Smith. This new tower will pay tribute to the sublime work of pioneering architects of color in Southern California during the mid-20th century with unique geometric patterns in the sculpture, evoking the famed mid-century buildings they created. We look forward to this beautiful new outdoor space!
Future plans for the district will also bring Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Chinese restaurant known for its soup dumplings and noodles, plus masterful Mexican cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán at Paseo and Céntrico, and the popular California-Cuban cheese rolls and pastries to come from Porto’s Bakery and Cafe.
Grab your appetite and take a walk on the wild side of flavor because Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is introducing quite a few new menu items to various dining locations throughout the park starting Oct. 11. The talented culinary teams have put their creativity to the test and put together a combination of dishes that will delight your taste buds with each and every bite.
From new breakfast items like the Stuffed Pancake Sandwich to dinner delights like the Chicken and Shrimp Rice Bowl, and even a snack (or two) from Tamu Tamu, there’s something for everyone to indulge in. Once you see all these items, you’ll be roaring with excitement (and hunger).
We won’t keep you waiting anymore. Let’s see “what’s cooking” over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park starting Oct. 11!
We’re kicking things off over at Harambe Market, an open-air quick-service location that’s filled with African-inspired fare. This location is bursting with excitement, flavor, and fun – and the newest additions to the menu are no different. Starting this week, hungry visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of new rice bowls – the Chicken and Shrimp Rice Bowl, Chicken Rice Bowl, and Shrimp Rice Bowl. Each dish features jollof rice with kachumbari tomato salad and tzatziki sauce and you can choose between chermoula-marinated chicken, peri peri-marinated shrimp, or both to top it off. There’s also a new kid’s version available – the Shrimp and Rice Bowl with peri peri-marinated shrimp, white rice, and a Cuties Mandarin Orange.
That’s not all. The new Beef and Lamb Kofta Pita is a must-try. It combines house-made beef and lamb kofta with a deliciously refreshing tzatziki sauce, chermoula, and house-made chips that you won’t be able to get enough of. If you’re interested in a plant-based option, the chefs have also created the IMPOSSIBLE Kofta Pita. This plant-based bite showcases IMPOSSIBLE kofta accompanied by a plant-based aïoli, chermoula, and house-made chips.
Salad fans will be more than pleased with the latest dish to join the menu. The Harambe Salad with Chicken perfectly combines chermoula-marinated chicken with quinoa, grilled corn, black-eyed peas, and crispy chickpeas topped with a tasty chermoula-herbed vinaigrette. You can also get this salad topped with shrimp if you prefer.
And don’t worry dessert lovers. The brand-new Mango Passion Fruit Cheesecake is refreshing, delicious, and beautiful. What could be better than mango and passion fruit in cheesecake form?
Are you ready to kickstart your day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park? If you weren’t sure, you will want to once you see this new bite. The salty-sweet combination has been taken to the next level with the Stuffed Pancake Sandwich. It’s filled with sausage, guava paste, egg, and cheese. If guava isn’t your thing, you can get this breakfast sandwich without it, so don’t worry. I don’t know about you, but this one is making my mouth water already. This new item will be available for breakfast at Drinkwallah, Pongu Pongu, Trek Snacks, and select outdoor vending carts.
Also serving up some new breakfast items and new snack bites is Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery. Whether looking for those early morning treats or midday cravings fix, the latest items here are going to impress. First up, joining the menu for breakfast is the Egg and Bacon Croissant Sandwich with Tomato Pepper Relish. This item features a croissant with a cheese omelet, crispy bacon, and tomato-pepper relish served with potato barrels. Also for breakfast is the Breakfast Totchos with Eggs, Bacon, and Cheese. It combines potato barrels, scrambled eggs, nacho cheese sauce, cheese curds, and crumbled bacon. I personally will be bringing my appetite for breakfast on my next outing to try everything.
But that’s not all for Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery – there are two more dishes on the way. The plant-based IMPOSSIBLE Gatsby fills a pita pocket with plant-based picadillo, tomato-pepper relish, and crispy potato sticks and tops it off with a plant-based aïoli. The Harissa Chicken Wrap brings together harissa chicken salad with vegetables and an avocado spread rolled in a spinach tortilla. Both items are served with house-made potato chips too!
In addition to the Stuffed Pancake Sandwich (which sounds incredible), Pongu Pongu will also have another item joining the menu. This fan-favorite spot nestled within Pandora – The World of Avatar serves up Na’vi-inspired refreshments and bites, like the Night Blossom. Starting Oct. 11, it will add a decadent new Cinnamon Roll. What a perfect sweet pairing to go with one of its tasty refreshments.
Barbecue lovers, are you (and your taste buds) ready for some exciting new bites? I sure hope so because Flame Tree Barbecue also has some additions on the way. The IMPOSSIBLE Burnt Ends are a can’t-miss plant-based dish whether you eat plant-based all the time or simply want to try something new. It’s paired with french fries and coleslaw on the side. If you fancy yourself a french fry fan, then I have the plate for you – the French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese. Need I say more?
We’re not done yet! Pizzafari is joining in on the menu updates. Here, you’ll find yet another plant-based item coming on Oct. 11. Add the Plant-based Italian Sausage to your list of things to try on your next Disney’s Animal Kingdom outing. This new offering is served alongside a side salad with Italian dressing. If you’re looking for another side option to pair with any of the tasty items already on the menu at this location, the Antipasto Side Salad will soon be available to complete your meal.
Last, but certainly not least, we’re trekking back over to Africa for one of my personal favorite snack spots at the park – Tamu Tamu Refreshments. Found in the heart of Harambe Village, those with a sweet tooth will rejoice at the options here. Joining the already delicious menu are four new snacks. First up, the DOLE Whip Orange Soda Float with strawberry syrup on top. Few things are as refreshing as pineapple, strawberry, and orange. Did you know you can also get the classic DOLE Whip Float at Tamu Tamu Refreshments already? This treat features DOLE Whip with DOLE pineapple juice for pineapple perfection. For those over the age of 21, you can enjoy the DOLE Whip Float with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum currently or the DOLE Whip Hard Cider Float featuring DOLE Whip and ACE Pineapple Craft Cider starting Oct. 11.
Wow! The culinary teams have clearly been working hard creating these incredible new delights for us to enjoy. No matter where you are, the foodie adventures are endless at Disney Parks! I can’t wait to see you all out there on Oct. 11 to try these can’t-miss eats and sips.
Foodies, grab your appetites and get ready to eat because three popular spots at Walt Disney World Resort are giving their menus a revamp. Over at our Disney Resort hotels, the culinary teams have been hard at work putting together dishes and beverages that are sure to satisfy. Starting Oct. 11, Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Banana Cabanaat Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be getting new items with a little something for everyone.
We won’t keep you waiting. Let’s jump right in and see “What’s Cooking” with all the new items coming to these three locations next week.
Let’s take a trip on the wild side over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge where you’ll find Geyser Point Bar & Grill nestled pool and lakeside. You don’t have to explore very hard to know that this spot doesn’t disappoint with its dishes. And these new additions are no different. The iconic Bison Burger is always still available to indulge in, but the culinary team has created some additional plates for the lineup, including three new plant-based bites. Not to mention, all of the food offerings are available on mobile order. Are you ready to see them all?
First up, the Crispy ‘Peking’ Ribs. This dish is tossed in a tasty peking sauce with cashews. If wings are more your thing, the Geyser Chicken Wings are now available in two new flavors – Thai Chili or Sriracha Buffalo. But don’t worry, if you love the Teriyaki, it’s still available too!
What’s better than charcuterie? Charcuterie in flatbread form. The Charcuterie Flatbread is topped with salami, brisket, chorizo, bacon, and smoked gouda beer cheese. YUM! The new Turkey BLT Sandwich is not your average BLT. It combines house-smoked black pepper turkey, candied bacon, and avocado puree for the perfect blend of flavors in every bite.
As I mentioned, there are three – yes, three – new plant-based offerings that simply cannot be missed. The Macaroni and ‘Cheese’ Bites are “cheesy” bites of goodness paired with tomato and peppers. This is one starter you’ll definitely want to order. The Vegetable Burger with ‘Cheese’ is a fantastic plant-based option. It’s topped with a spicy slaw, pepper jack ‘cheese’, lettuce, and tomato. Lastly, we’ve got the Multigrain Salad with Tofu. This delicious new addition combines mixed greens, wild rice, bell peppers, and sesame vinaigrette. It’s also available with chicken, steak, or salmon if you’d like.
In addition to all these bites, there’s also a new sip joining the menu. The Pineapple Mule is returning from its temporary run during Black History Month, and now will be featured as a permanent offering at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. It brings together Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, Hella Cocktail Co. Ginger Bitters, pineapple juice, ginger beer, and mint for a refreshing and delicious beverage. Guest Experience Managers Mauro Santiago Marcos and Megan Reinhardt crafted this cocktail centered around Uncle Nearest Whiskey which pays homage to the first known Black master distiller, Nathan ‘Nearest’ Green. In addition to Geyser Point Bar & Grill, the Pineapple Mule will be added to over 40 Disney Resort hotel bars and lounges.
Get ready to bask in the good vibes and good flavors at Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago. This open-air spot found at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a fan favorite, and for good reason. In a few short days, this location will be adding quite a few mouthwatering delights to its flavorful selections. And, in case you didn’t know, all the food is available via mobile order too.
First up, we’ve got the Korean Fried Chicken Bao Buns. This bite is paired with lime mayo, sweet-and-spicy gochujang sauce, ‘kimchi’ pickles, and radish. Another new starter is the Tamarind Soy-glazed Pork Ribs with scallions, pickled fresno chili, and cilantro. Whether you’re a ceviche fan or looking to try it, the Ceviche Classico is the perfect dish to satisfy your taste buds. It deliciously features kona kampachi, sweet potato, cancha, red onion, chile, and leche de tigre. Yes, yes, and yes!
For a refreshing salad, the Villa del Lago Wedge Salad is a must. It combines baby iceberg lettuce, chorizo, bleu cheese, and marinated tomatoes topped with avocado dressing. You can also get it with grilled shrimp or grilled chicken if you’d like some added protein.
It’s time for the entrées! Few things are better than tacos and the new Pork Carnitas Tacos are no different. These are served with a trio of sauces – chipotle-pineapple salsa, tomatillo salsa verde, and salsa borracha – along with cotija cheese and pickled vegetables served with black beans and rice. That’s what I call a taco. The Chicken Mole Poblano is another must-try with a sweet corn-Oaxacan cheese tamale, – yes, you heard that right – rich mole poblano sauce, and radish.
If you’re in the mood to fulfill that burger fix (we’ve all been there), the Three Bridges Signature Burger is just the plate for you. This is not your average burger. This one is topped with a bacon marmalade, sun-dried tomato jam, smoked gouda queso, crispy vegetables, and arugula served with smoked paprika fries. Yes, please!
Last up for new main dishes is the Plancha-seared Mahi Mahi and Shrimp. Seafood fans will love this new item. It’s expertly paired with basmati rice, bok choy, Thai red coconut-curry sauce, and mint.
Attention plant-based diners! Some of your favorite plant-based bites like the Guacamole, Roasted Corn Dip, and ‘Poke’ Bowl, which is now available with tofu, aren’t going anywhere, so no need to fret.
What meal is complete without a sweet treat? The Warm Churros are still on the menu, but now featuring three dipping sauces: tequila caramel, spiced chocolate, and mango-chamoy. My mouth is already watering for this one! Another sweet delight is the Coconut Flan with passionfruit sauce, mango, and hibiscus. You may have seen this dish previously on the menu for Women’s History Month, and now it has made Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago its permanent home.
Before we head over to our next location, we have to take a look at three new beverages on the way. The Cold Brew Old Fashioned will satisfy cold brew and old-fashioned fans alike. It combines SelvaRey Chocolate Rum, Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur, Joffrey’s Mexican Femenino Cold Brew, and Hella Cocktail Co. Orange Bitters. For some red wine with a twist, the Tinto de Verano serves up red wine, Combier Creme de Mure, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, and Sprite. This refreshing cocktail is traditionally served in the summer months in Spain. And for a tropical beverage that’s non-alcoholic, the Tropical Coconut Cooler is a refreshing blend of coconut, orange, pineapple, and lime juices with a salt rim.
Now, it’s time to relax and feast because we’re heading over to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort where Banana Cabana has got some new bites joining the menu. Pair one of this location’s deliciously refreshing beverages with a savory bite like the new Banana Cabana Burger. This dish features Caribbean barbecue, tomatillo-jalapeño cream cheese, and pineapple salsa with plantain crunch served with french fries.
Do you love yourself some wings? If so, you’re in luck because the Grilled Wings now feature two new sauce flavors – Rum Barbecue and Guava Buffalo. But don’t worry, the tasty Jamaican Jerk is still there too. These three options are designed by the talented culinary team to be an island-style of mild (Rum Barbecue), medium (Guava Buffalo), and hot (Jamaican Jerk). No matter your sauce of choice, your wings will be joined by carrots and a tasty cilantro-lime crema.
For those of you who love seafood, there are two new items you should try poolside – the Seafood Fritters served with a passion fruit aïoli and the Coconut Shrimp served with citrus-chili sauce and french fries. How delicious! The island vibes are even better on Fridays and Saturdays when Banana Cabana features a live steel drum band.
Whether you’re looking for sweet or savory, the foodie adventures are endless at Disney Parks.
A day at Walt Disney World is never complete without two park essentials: coffee and snacks! Whether you’re having an early morning adventure in Andy’s Backyard or taking a relaxing walk around World Showcase, there’s always a perfect blend of both delectable Disney treats and Joffrey’s Coffee joining you on your journey.
In honor of National Coffee Day (Sept. 29) this year, let’s take a trip around Walt Disney World to find some perfect pairings for any park day featuring Joffrey’s Coffee!
To help ensure you get your caffeine fix no matter where your park hopping may take you, Joffrey’s kiosks and stores across Walt Disney World Resort are offering $1.00 hot (16 oz.) or iced (24 oz.) Walt Disney World Resort Blend drip coffee on National Coffee Day! Find a participating location* to fuel your Disney day, and let’s get a brew-tiful adventure at the park started off right.
Magic Kingdom Park
At Magic Kingdom Park, enjoy an out-of-this-world offering at Joffrey’s Revive Kiosk in Tomorrowland – the Mission to S’mores Latte. Featuring chocolate sauce, marshmallow syrup, whipped cream, graham crackers and fluffy marshmallows, this sweet treat pairs perfectly with Joffrey’s soft and fresh, S’mores Cookie!
For a whimsical spin as you make your way through Fantasyland, another great stop is the Cheshire Café for a classic Joffrey’s Cold Brew paired with an iconic Cheshire Cat Tail.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Get caffeinated and go bananas over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! My early morning trek always begins before I even enter the park at Joffrey’s main entrance kiosk. In true Animal Kingdom fashion, the wild flavors of a Savannah Banana Latte – topped with not one but two cherries – paired with a Strawberry Banana jumbo cookie will send your taste buds on their own adventure.
Once the day is officially moving and grooving, I find my way to Asia for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up and cool down. Stop one: Joffrey’s Royal Anandapur kiosk for a Frozen Cappuccino Dream, followed by stop two: Mr. Kamal’s for my all-time favorite Animal Kingdom snack, Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries!
EPCOT
Over at EPCOT, keep it cool at Joffrey’s kiosk near the Wonders of Xandar pavilion while you await your demonstration of the Cosmic Generator! Pair a classic Disney snack – mine is the iconic Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar – with a crowd favorite, Joffrey’s Shakin’ Jamaican Cold Brew!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Big cookies and big fun are always in store at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Before racing through Andy’s Backyard in Toy Story Land, I always make a quick pit stop at Joffrey’s kiosk near Pixar Place. The Round Em’ Up Latte is almost too cute to drink with cookie butter and dulce de leche syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles, and of course, some playful animal crackers on top! Paired with Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookie from the Pixar Place Market, this duo keeps me marching through the park all day long.
Once Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge comes into view, there’s no stopping the Force from leading me straight to Kat Saka’s Kettle for a Joffrey’s Cold Brew Black Caf and my own personal serving of the Outpost Popcorn Mix – a pair even the First Order would approve.
As fall comes around, so do new flavors! Over at Walt Disney World Resort, EPCOT is serving up some tasty delights that will make you and your taste buds fall in love. From recently launched to coming soon bites, there is plenty going on over at EPCOT you simply have to try.
