This is a separately ticketed seasonal celebration on select nights from Nov. 9 to Dec. 22 at Magic Kingdom Park with festive fun for the whole family to enjoy! Let’s unwrap some of the magical offerings you can experience at this year’s event:
Very Merry Entertainment
The entertainment offerings at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are sure to make your spirits bright – from festive fireworks over Cinderella Castle to holiday dance parties with your favorite characters, and even a yuletide castle show. And did you know you can experience “snow” on Main Street, U.S.A.? Grab a spot for Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and watch Magic Kingdom transform into a winter wonderland with a festive processional and Florida flurries.
Characters in their Holiday Best
As a party guest, you’ll have a chance to pose for holiday card photos with festive characters like Jack Skellington and Sally and Scrooge McDuck. You’ll also catch some of your favorite Disney characters dressed in their holiday best! Before your magical evening comes to an end, head to Liberty Square to commemorate the holiday season with a photo with Santa. Looking to add a touch of magic to this classic holiday tradition? Cookies and a warm cup of cocoa are staples of the holiday season. As a party guest, you can enjoy these sweet treats all night long at no additional charge. You’ll find unique cookie flavors at each of the designated treat locations throughout Magic Kingdom Park, and allergy-friendly options are available upon request.
Holiday-Inspired Food and Beverage Offerings
Santa’s helpers have been hard at work creating holiday-inspired food and beverage offerings for this event. To celebrate the cookbook, Disney is sharing a delicious plant-based potato flauta recipe from Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure park. These flautas are served with plant-based chorizo, vegan piquillo crema, tomatillo-serrano sauce, and an arugula escabeche salad. It’s a fantastic dish from the Disney vault that’s sure to impress your plant-based and meat-eating guests.

PLANT-BASED POTATO FLAUTAS
Lamplight Lounge
Disney California Adventure Park Serves 4
TOMATILLO-SERRANO SAUCE
4 small tomatillos (enough to make 1 cup), peeled and washed
2 serrano chiles, stem removed
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh garlic
1/2 Hass avocado (3 tablespoons)
1/4 cup spinach
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup canola oil
VEGAN PIQUILLO CREMA
1/2 cup silken tofu
1/4 cup chopped piquillo peppers
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon freshly chopped cilantro
1 tablespoon roasted garlic puree
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
ARUGULA ESCABECHE SALAD
1 cup arugula
1 Fresno pepper, sliced into thin rings
8 thin slices red onion
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
POTATO FLAUTAS
1 pound Yukon Gold potatoes (about 4 potatoes)
1 tablespoon minced serrano pepper, more if you prefer spicy
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 tablespoon coarse salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
12 (6-inch) corn tortillas
Canola oil, for frying
FOR SERVING
1 cup soy chorizo
Tomatillo-Serrano Sauce
Potato Flautas
Vegan Piquillo Crema
Arugula Escabeche Salad
FOR TOMATILLO-SERRANO SAUCE:
Place tomatillos and serrano chiles in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 to 8 minutes, or until softened. Drain and place in blender
Add garlic, avocado, spinach, and salt and puree until smooth. Slowly drizzle in oil with blender running on low speed.
FOR PIQUILLO CREMA:
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.
FOR ARUGULA ESCABECHE SALAD:
Toss arugula, peppers, onion, and cilantro in a bowl. (Take care when handling chilies and peppers)
Drizzle with lime juice and season with salt and pepper.
FOR POTATO FLAUTAS:
Peel potatoes and cut into cubes. Place in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, then simmer until potatoes are fork tender, about 10 minutes. Do not cover.
Drain and cool potatoes. Mash until creamy and add serrano pepper, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Warm tortillas and evenly portion filling in each, about 2 tablespoons each. Roll and close with toothpicks, 2 in each roll, spaced evenly apart.
With caution, heat enough oil to come 1 inch up the sides of a heavy pan. When oil is 350°F, carefully place flautas in oil and fry until golden, about 4 minutes. Continue working in batches, removing from pan and draining on paper towels. Remove toothpicks.
TO SERVE:
While flautas are frying, sauté chorizo in a small frying pan until crisp.
Equally divide Tomatillo-Serrano Sauce among 4 serving platters. Place 3 Potato Flautas on top in each platter and top flautas with soy chorizo. Drizzle with Vegan Piquillo Crema and top with a little Arugula Escabeche Salad.
Always use caution when handling sharp objects and hot contents. Please supervise children who are helping or nearby. This recipe has been converted from a larger quantity in the restaurant kitchens. The flavor profile may vary from the restaurant’s version.

Are you ready for some mind-blowing Disney gingerbread displays? We sure hope so because that’s exactly what you can expect to find at both Disneyland Resortand Walt Disney World Resort, and even aboard the high seas on Disney Cruise Lineduring the holiday season. A true staple of both locations’ holiday festivities, these gingerbread displays are truly amazing. After months of hard work and creativity from the talented culinary teams, these displays are brought to life before your very eyes and are well worth the visit.
Some of these displays have returned for the holidays for more than 20 years, like the Gingerbread House found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spaand the Gingerbread House found within (yes, within) Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland park, while others are making their dazzling debut for the very first time this year, like the Lighthouse coming to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. It’s no surprise visiting these works of art has become a tradition for both guests and cast members alike. With plenty of hidden details, and maybe even some hidden Mickeys, you can easily come back again and again to experience these gingerbread creations.

Starting Nov. 10, the Disneyland Resort will have a display to get you in the holiday spirit – the Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The lobby will be home once again to one of its best holiday classics – the “Grand” Gingerbread House. This giant gingerbread replica of the hotel is a holiday highlight and a can’t-miss stop in the lobby. Standing 7 feet tall and 12 feet wide, the structure is created from more than 600 pounds of gingerbread, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 250 pounds of fondant, one pound of pixie dust, and features 25 hidden Mickeys!

Welcome foolish mortals to a gingerbread display unlike any seen before. Found within the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland park, a few ghosts have made room for a dazzling display this season. The Haunted Mansion Gingerbread House has been materializing for guests of the attraction for more than 20 years from Halloween to the holidays. Jack Skellington, or should we say “Sandy Claws,” and his friends have transformed this beloved attraction into Haunted Mansion Holiday, inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” and this display is a welcomed addition. With three moving elements and nearly 300 pounds, this display took over 20 days to build and decorate with 13 cast members. Don’t forget to take a ride to see it for yourself before Jan. 8, 2024.
Now heading over to Walt Disney World Resort, we’re stopping by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for their life-sized Gingerbread House! This beloved tradition is back again for its 24th year from Nov. 8 through Jan. 1, 2024, and is filled with plenty of sweet delights and decorations. All across this house, you’ll find white chocolate candy canes, edible snowflakes, sugar poinsettias, and over 10,000 pieces of gingerbread. Not to mention the 85 lb. chocolate Santa (yes, you heard that right), nutcrackers, toy soldiers, and snowmen that are all hand-painted by the Grand Floridian Bakery team led by Pastry Chef de Cuisine Kristine Farmer. The 500 hours spent baking gingerbread and 480 hours spent decorating are well worth it. Be on the lookout for the 24 hidden Mickeys found throughout the entire display to see if you can find them all.

Also, available for purchase are some sweet delights sold at the Holiday Pop Up Shop, including the new Lighthouse Fudge, which is a nod to this new offering.
Just next door at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, we’ve got the classic Holiday Carousel gingerbread display. The life-size creation has been at the resort for 22 years and it actually moves – how cool! This year, this gingerbread offering is inspired by Ducktales, with the horses themed after Donald Duck and his nephews, Huey, Duey, and Louie. To celebrate all the years of tradition, there are 22 hidden Mickeys to find throughout the display, as well as 434 pounds of honey, 25 pounds of spices, 200 pounds of icing, and a whole lot of creativity and talent from the culinary team!

As we keep going around Crescent Lake, we get to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn where their display is shore to impress from Nov. 17 through Dec. 27. This creation is a miniature version of some of your favorite spots found along the BoardWalk itself, including the BoardWalk Deli, which is home to none other than the BoardWalk Inn Bakery team led by Pastry Chef Alex Vacher.

Next up, let’s go on a tasty adventure to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge where you’ll find one of the most adorable giraffes and zebras around. In the Jambo House lobby from Nov. 22 through Dec. 31, the Animal Kingdom Lodge bakery led by Pastry Chef Lexy Ross has continued the tradition with the Life-Size Baby Gingerbread Giraffe and Baby Zebra. This can’t-miss giraffe, or should we say ginger-affe, named Ginger and baby zebra, Debra, are made with a combination of gingerbread, sugar dough, and modeling chocolate. In fact, the giraffe stands near 7 feet tall. You’ll also be able to pick up some tasty treats to take with you, like the Gingeraffe Cookie, Hot Cocoa Flight, and beer, wine, and cocktails!
Now, let’s blast off to Disney’s Contemporary Resort where their gingerbread display is back once again for its 12th year led by Pastry Chef Jeff Barnes! Found on the fourth floor of the resort from Nov. 10 through Jan. 6, 2024, this year’s Mary Blair-inspired 100th Celebration-themed Castle Display was designed by Walt Disney Imagineers for this momentous occasion for The Walt Disney Company. It stands over 17 feet tall with 612 pounds of sugar, 1012 pounds of flour, 112 pounds of gingerbread spice, over 4000 castle gingerbread bricks, and 12 sprinklings of magical pixie dust! And, be sure to keep your eyes peeled with the 12 hidden five-legged goats.

Foodies get ready because a new spot is about to open its doors to hungry patrons ready for a tasty meal with a Disney touch. The newest Disney Vacation Club resort, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, is now open at Disneyland Resort, and their brand-new Palm Breeze Bar will be serving up tasty eats and sips for all guests staying at The Disneyland Hotel to enjoy, starting on Nov. 2. This delightful outdoor venue will feature modern décor inspired by the imaginative artistry of Disney Legend, Mary Blair. As you enter this location, art inspired by some of the classic Walt Disney Animation Studios films and Disneyland park itself will be all around you, so keep your eyes peeled while you dine!
Whether you’re in the mood for a fresh seafood bite like the Coctel de Mariscos, some cheesy-goodness with the Cheese Fry Poutine, the Beignets for a sweet finish (with a Disney twist), or the Strawberry Thyme Fizz for a refreshing sip, Palm Breeze Bar will have something for everyone to enjoy it when it opens, so bring your appetite.

The streets will be filled with Latin holiday tunes, colorful décor, and plenty of eats and sips inspired by Latin holiday traditions for a vibrant and lively party. Or experience Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby as the restaurant transforms into a smooth jazz joint, playing holiday tunes amidst sparkling décor. Here, you can sip craft cocktails and indulge in an exclusive menu of light bites while enjoying the music and ambiance of this classy establishment. You can even drop by the dazzling Twilight Soirée at The Tip-Top Club, a swingin’ soiree in the courtyard of The Hollywood Tower Hotel. A live band will be bringing the fun with holiday tunes in jukebox style as you sip on fancy cocktails.

Disney Chef Toby Hollis and Operations Manager Lindell Skinner, New Orleans Square in Disneyland park, chat about how gumbo is a staple meal at Tiana’s Palace while Chef Toby demonstrates how you too can get in on the action and prepare this delicious dish! Stella Chase, daughter of Leah Chase who was one of the inspirations for Disney Animation’s Princess Tiana, also shares a special message about what gumbo means to her family. Take a listen!
Lindell highlights his strong connection to Tiana’s Palace as a NOLA native. “My New Orleans heritage and upbringing helped me decide which food items would best connect with our guests.”
The Disneyland Resort culinary team traveled to New Orleans as did Walt Disney Imagineering to help create Tiana’s Palace in the true, authentic spirit of New Orleans. Following the trip, the team emphasized the importance of authenticity and striving to mirror that spirit when preparing the House Gumbo dish.
With 20 years of experience as a culinary expert, Chef Toby shares the importance of being intentional about each ingredient and its value. “Striving for authenticity helped me realize how each ingredient impacts the overall dish.”

Announcing Plans for Parkside Market!
We are thrilled to tell you about more innovative food and drink offerings coming to Downtown Disney in the future! Plans are underway for Parkside Market, a new, curated collection of diverse culinary concepts brought to life by Levy, with all four offerings under one roof as part of the expansion on the west end. Let’s whet your appetite with a bit more about what offerings are coming to this all-new location!
Seoul Sister is a fast-casual modern eatery that will serve a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) with a California twist. Executive Chef Kelly Kim will showcase bold Korean flavors through marinated meats, colorful vegetables and savory sauces over rice, noodles or salad, plus appetizers, an Asian-inspired breakfast menu, and hand-crafted drinks.
Sip & Sonder, from founders Amanda-Jane Thomas and Shanita Nicholas, is a Black women-owned brand that has been recognized as one of the best cafés in L.A. by the Los Angeles Times. Guests in the district can expect to enjoy Sip & Sonder’s signature lattes, as well as fresh treats, frozen drinks and Caribbean-inspired bites.
GG’s Chicken Shop, from Boka Restaurant Group, was founded by James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm, alongside Michelin Star Chef Partner Lee Wolen. Affectionately named after Wolen’s mother Geri, the shop will serve a family-friendly menu of chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides. The first brick-and-mortar GG’s Chicken Shop opened earlier this year in Chicago and this new location in Downtown Disney District will be its first on the West Coast.
A second story bar will be an al fresco spot offering great views to sip signature craft cocktails and mocktails from mixologists who infuse, muddle, stir, shake and swizzle the freshest mixes using local ingredients and artful garnishes. Refreshing selections will include frozen lemonades, frozés, espresso martinis, shareable cocktails and spirit-free elixirs.
Later this year, Downtown Disney will open a new stage and lawn for special events, activities, musical entertainment and more on the west end of the district. In this brand-new area, you’ll also be able to see a soaring new sculptural tower designed by Nikkolas Smith. This new tower will pay tribute to the sublime work of pioneering architects of color in Southern California during the mid-20th century with unique geometric patterns in the sculpture, evoking the famed mid-century buildings they created. We look forward to this beautiful new outdoor space!
Future plans for the district will also bring Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Chinese restaurant known for its soup dumplings and noodles, plus masterful Mexican cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán at Paseo and Céntrico, and the popular California-Cuban cheese rolls and pastries to come from Porto’s Bakery and Cafe.
