To that end, our goal is to gather, analyze, and present information on our website and throughout our services that turn ordinary people into heroes.

New and exciting opportunities lie ahead – restaurants, seasonal events, and special events are always changing. For these reasons, MouseDining is seeking passionate, self-motivated, creative individuals to fill some of the following roles as we grow our features and influence in the Disney dining reservation niche.

BACK-END DEVELOPER

We’re looking for an experienced Back-End Developer who enjoys building, maintaining, testing, monitoring, optimizing, and iterating across our suite of Disney-themed web and mobile apps.

Our goal is simple: organize Disney’s data to be more accessible and helpful to their customers. We provide value to our shared customers through “freemium” time-saving and trip-planning tools. We strive to write code that is lightweight, agile, and free from cruft. We then monitor, test, and optimize our systems while building out new features to add more value for our customers.

  • Commitment
    • Full-time, salaried position. Flexible hours. Fully remote. Technology budget.
    • W-2 or 1099 contract with 1 year minimum commitment
  • Qualifications
    • Comfortable working in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environments
    • Experience using Laravel PHP Framework as an API
    • Experience using Git/GitHub for merge/pull requests
    • Experience with Stripe Billing or similar SaaS billing platform
    • Experience customizing CMS solutions
    • History of working on projects with multiple contracted/temporary developers
  • Responsibilities
    • Maintain our core, user-facing product, MouseDining.com
    • Conceptualize, prototype, build, launch, and maintain new products and services
    • Maintaining development, staging, and production GitHub repositories
    • Work with SysAdmin to maintain our deployment process and push code often
    • Share responsibility for service uptime (along with SysAdmin)
    • Identify and replicate bugs to troubleshoot customer service escalations
    • Ensure appropriate and necessary monitoring and unit-testing
    • Support front-end developers with requested API-endpoints and documentation
    • Enforce coding standards to ensure organized, structured data and schemas
    • Adhere to security policies regarding code accessibility, user data, and confidential trade secrets
  • Bonus Points For
    • Experience using Amazon Web Services (RDS, EC2, CodeDeploy, SES, etc.)
    • Experience using business tools such as: Slack, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Zoom, Profitwell, QuickBooks, Amazon Associates, CRMs, etc.
    • Experience developing and launching a mobile app
    • Experience with ad tech software and/or networks
  • Growth Opportunities
    • This role will immediately start on our flagship product, MouseDining.com. Once up to speed, we’ll continue to add new features as well as develop entirely new products and services. You’ll be in a position to spend more time where you choose and we’ll hire for the projects and/or tasks you wish to give up.

VIDEO PRODUCER/EDITOR & VIDEOGRAPHER

The Video Producer/Editor & Videographer role is currently an all-in-one role. My immediate goal is to find an individual or team to help produce, edit, and publish video assets until we have a small library of general-use video content on YouTube, our social channels, and website. This is to build our brand and confidence.

Thereafter, I will prioritize original content aimed at informing and educating audiences of the many changes and nuances related to Disney travel. These can be in the form of Comedy, Spectacles, General Good, and Philanthropy. This is proven to build a strong audience on YouTube where we can begin to monetize the channel and grow the team and resources for much, much more original video content.

I lean towards a model where we continually re-invest our video team’s profits into our creativity and production values. Our audience is Disney fans afterall, so there’s no shortage of magic we can make for others!

  • Commitment
    • 5-20 hours weekly, as projects/needs dictate
    • Get paid by the hour, by produced video minute, or project-based
  • Qualifications
    • A strong passion for planning, producing, and editing video content
    • Strong desire to educate and inform through video, not just entertain
    • Experience creating, editing, and producing video assets
    • Demo reel with a minimum of 5 videos to demonstrate your skills and various capabilities/techniques
    • Attitude of “done is better than perfect”, but always eager to learn and do better on the next one
  • Responsibilities
    • Plan, organize, edit, and produce all MouseDining video content
    • Create, curate, collect, ingest, and organize all video content for storage and future use
    • Stay abreast of technologies that ease video production and storage processes such as file transfers, encoding, software, etc.
    • Be responsible for company equipment, seeing that it is transported and stored responsibly
    • Understand intellectual property (IP), and when we can and cannot use video, image, or audio assets
    • Aid MouseDining Content Managers with video uploads to their respective platforms for the best quality and user viewing experience
  • Bonus Points For
    • A kickass demo reel that demonstrates enthusiasm in video production
    • Well-rounded experience in front of and behind the camera, as well as in the editor and producer seats
    • Ability to curate license-free content from the web
    • Leveraging any of your own equipment
  • Growth Opportunities
    • I’m extremely optimistic in our ability to leverage video content. If our video content can produce its own revenue, I’m committed to putting 100% of proceeds back into production resources to create amazing content.
