Tiffins: A Light Lunch
The word tiffins refers to a light lunch served in India to enjoy during the work week. The restaurant Tiffins provides you with the perfect amount of rest amidst a full day at the park. This travel themed restaurant will provide you with dishes inspired by Asia and Africa’s best cuisine. We suggest that you try the Taste of Tiffins if you want a little bit of everything. For $28 per person you receive servings of black eyed pea fritters, beef short ribs, marinated grilled octopus, market veggie curry, crispy yellow tail snapper, and chermoula-rubbed chicken. Wash it down with an imported beer from their bar menu with offerings from Brazil, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Thailand, and more.
Tusker House
Tusker House offers three meals each day, as well as a meet and greet with Donald Duck (dressed to the nines in his safari gear)! Try the traditional Disney breakfast buffet of Mickey waffles, eggs, and bacon. If you’re looking for cuisine true to the park’s theme, head over for lunch or dinner and nosh on everything from peri-peri whole salmon, toasted couscous, and Cape Malay curry chicken to corn dog nuggets, spiced vegetable tofu, and black eyed pea salsa. Animal Kingdom restaurants offer classic Disney experiences like meet and greets accompanied by Mickey waffles with their own wild twist.
A Wild Time at Rainforest Cafe
In 1989, Steven Schussler turned his Minneapolis home into a prototype for his new concept restaurant. It was complete with tropical birds, huge aquariums, and a baboon named Charlie. The idea took off and is the “wild place to shop and eat” we know as the Rainforest Cafe. Not only is the Rainforest Cafe in thirteen states and five countries, it’s the only restaurant to have a location in EVERY Disney park. Whether stopping in for the drinks and the Awesome Appetizer Adventure (chicken chimichangas, spinach artichoke dip, cheese sticks, and chicken fingers, oh my!) or the Volcano brownie sundae, you’re sure to have an adventure in this tropical dining paradise.
This isn’t a Scary Yeti
You’ll find the Yak and Yeti in a cozy village home turned restaurant decorated with Southeast Asian artifacts. Start your meal with one of their sharable appetizers like ahi tuna nachos or chicken lettuce wraps. Try one of their several lo mein noodle bowls or wok dishes. Wash it down with an Asian imported beer and finish the meal off with pineapple and cream cheese wontons. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!
Animal Kingdom restaurants are top of the line, and Tiffins, Tusker House, Rainforest Cafe, and Yak and Yeti are now all available to make reservations! Personally, I’d make plans to stop at each for a full-on food safari.
